If there was an alternate dimension, they would have their own satellites and internet system. Probably better than ours!

I think that my body's limitations does not affect the laws in and of the cosmos.

Never really gave it much thought before.....who knows.

Well I would think if you could access the internet from an alternate dimension, it means a connection was previously established there. Satellite signals? Not sure. They may have a completely different technology system from this dimension that is beyond our comprehension but totally usable here.

There is every possibility that alternate dimensions do exist.

Gravity bleeding across from countless alternate dimensions is one possible explanation for why we cannot find dark matter.

Sadly, RF energy would not cross over. We would have detected that by now.

I believe alternate dimensions exist

It's exciting and terrifying at the same time

Well, I don't know if anyone has watched Cosmos, but Neil Degrasse-Tyson kind of goes over our attempt to contact other life in our own galaxy/universe. But explains that the difficulty is that technology has no guarantee of being similar in any way so the radio waves we send out might entirely miss what ever system (if they have developed one) they have created due to incompatibility. This is kind of my problem when Jeff Goldblum uploads the virus in Independence Day. It just so happens that this advanced alien species runs everything on windows?...

But to get back to the point, when it comes to alternate dimensions, the difficulty could be the exact same deal and even in the infinite dimension theory where there are even dimensions only the slightest bit different than ours, the ability to contact them, in my opinion, would be muffled with the inability to capitalize or acknowledge the ability to due to perspective. That is to say if there isn't a barrier similar to time and space to think about.

Though, these are just my thoughts. I could be entirely wrong since there is so little known, maybe the truth is we have been communicating with other dimensional selves and very few of us know it because it always stays just an internet connection. Who knows. Just my two cents. Fun subject though!

I just assumed Area 51 had made significant progress in deciphering the systems of the alien starship they had been working on for the last few decades.

Suspension of disbelief comes not with their ability to write the virus, but that the aliens had no firewalls around critical systems.

That's a fair point on both ends. Why would basically a military grade alien invasion not have some sort of protection on their programs? But, I am not gonna rail the movie too hard. There are plenty of other movies out there that exemplify this flaw way worse than Independence Day lol.
