It's basically another world, so, no.

It's like an anime character trying to get WI-FI from our world.

This is kind of my problem when Jeff Goldblum uploads the virus in Independence Day. It just so happens that this advanced alien species runs everything on windows?...

I just assumed Area 51 had made significant progress in deciphering the systems of the alien starship they had been working on for the last few decades.

Suspension of disbelief comes not with their ability to write the virus, but that the aliens had no firewalls around critical systems.

That's a fair point on both ends. Why would basically a military grade alien invasion not have some sort of protection on their programs? But, I am not gonna rail the movie too hard. There are plenty of other movies out there that exemplify this flaw way worse than Independence Day lol.

Maybe they were running windows 8, they did have advanced technology but it seemed to fail miserably.

I don't think it would. At least not using our current technologies.

Now the theoretical quantum computers would by their very nature be able to communicate with these alternate realities.
