That was a surprise there seeing that CR generally doesn't do OVAs, but I'm glad they did and I'm watching this three-episode OVA.

Episode 1

So it begins with Chise looking back at how she ended up in London living with the Ainsworths. That's quite an interesting collection of characters there with Elias the skull head and Ruth, who can transform into a dog. So Chise struggled with life as she could see spirits that are causing all sorts of problems, and by some stroke of luck she ends up running into magical library in the forest where those spirits won't appear. That was a pretty interesting beginning and seeing that it's an OVA that it figures to be about how Chise wound up in her current situation.

When anybody sees this, they would run, especially since it's made up of a bunch of rats.


So with that, it will be quite awhile before the rest of the OVA episodes come out. Next one is on March 10 and the third episode is out a year from now. Given this kind of release pattern, I'm thinking that a TV series will be coming out for the Fall 2017 season.

Nice production has a big money feel to it

Very beautiful show. Only 23 minutes for the first OVA but I think Wits Studio captured the very essence of it with the main characters.

Chise is also someone that I find interesting so far in particular with her ability to see spirits. Elias is portrayed well in regard to his personality and I love the world setting so far including that fantasy forest. Can't wait for the other two OVA episodes.

Btw, this is an anime original story for this particular series so don't expect anything at all to be adapted.

Pretty interesting. Chise's back story mirrors Natsume's from Natsume Yuujinchou almost completely, so far that is, although visually it's more heart wrenching because she looks pretty messed up. The presentation seems to have some Ghibli influence as well, or maybe that just comes with higher quality animation with fantasy creatures and it's sort of rural setting.

The episode had a bit of a slow start, but more in the sense of it feeling like the beginning of a movie, rather than being boring, which makes sense since it's a 3 part OVA series. Will definitely continue to watch.

It felt like the slow start of something greater. But now we wait for quite a while until the next bit. It was nice to look at, but I would have difficulty in saying it was a good episode to someone else. As a whole, it may be very good, but there is no whole right now, unfortunately.

Wow, I really loved that first episode for the OVA. I was interested in it when I first heard about it, and when I saw the preview with the first three minutes in it, I knew that I'd like it, but I actually loved the start to this story. Poor Chise seems to have a horrible and really sad backstory for growing up, and I really feel for her for that.

I know we saw a preview for the next one at the end of the first, and it sucks that we have to wait so long to see it, but could this possibly be the preview for the third one? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CoCwUzbkfdk And is it just me, or does that guy in the trench coat sound like Junichi Suwabe (Archer from Fate/Stay Night, Grimmjow from Bleach, Itami from GATE)?

How lucky are we?! Getting something like this on CR! It's great, looking forward the next episode!

Will there be any action in this anime or not really?

I couldn't help but think of a Studio Ghibli Film while watching this.
