Well considering that it's a symbol, I wouldn't care. They only have power when you let the person using it give it power.

I ignore garbage like this. I will not feed into negativity and hate by acknowledging it. The only time I would choose to act, would be if someone was directly being hurt as a result.

some people don't understand the meaning behind the symbol, and get mad, since they instantly associate it with the Nazi party.
the Svastika is a Buddhist symbol and represents good fortune. you can see it used in Japanese temples, for example.
or can still see. Japan seems to be thinking of removing it because of tantrums by foreigners ignorant to what the symbol represents.

I thought I heard it was just being removed from maps to make the maps a little more user-friendly to those ignorant of the connotation it has for buddhists and the like. It was supposed to be because they're holding the olympics(?) in japan in 2020?

maybe, but they just might give in to pressure and censor those symbols from the temple as well.
and yes, all because of the 2020 olympics

Well, Japan is quite known for holding its ground on controversial matters. I can appreciate them taking the time to make the place easier to navigate for foreigners, but I also hope that they still uphold their value of not letting others tell them what to do because of the offended party's own distaste for the matter.

It would really depend on where I saw it. I can't get upset at a symbol. It's people who give them meaning, so if they are using it for something bad then I would be upset with them. I don't necessarily associate anything bad with it. If it's just somewhere randomly on a wall I probably wouldn't think anything about it except wonder if I can get away with graffiti as well... :P

This symbol in particular existed way before the Nazi party started using it.
