I have been away from anime for about 2 years now..
Now that I've sorted quite alot of things in my life, and started to settle into a new lifestyle, I am feeling great!
I've been enjoying my new job, saving up for my own place, everything is good!
Though I've found myself some more freetime recently, and figured I'd start getting back into anime!
I really am behind on Naruto so I want to catch up on that, but I also want to know what's good after I've been away?
You guys mind filling me in on some good stuff I've missed out on during my hiatus?
I am really into anything besides ecchi stuff..
I love me some comedy, romance, sports, action and everything besides pointless ecchi stuff! :3
I'll be back tommorrow to check on this and hopefully is full alot of recommendations!
I'll be sure to read everyone's comment as I am always keen to discover new things!
Thanks and peace!

Non-ecchi. Some romance, comedy, tear-jerkers, etc that should keep you busy for a little while. Not much in the way of sports or action though.

/your-lie-in-april (feels)
/one-week-friends (feels)
/mushi-shi (folklore-ish)
/the-kawai-complex-guide-to-manors-and-hostel-behavior (rom-com)
/my-love-story (rom-com)
/plastic-memories (feels)
/blue-spring-ride (rom-com, feels)
/monthly-girls-nozaki-kun (comedy)
/my-teen-romantic-comedy-snafu (Not really about romance at all, comedic but kind of serious at times).

Edit;
For sports, the only thing that comes to mind is Ping-Pong (Funimation/Hulu)

Do you have Netflix? I highly recommend Seven Deadly Sins.

Currently airing on Funimation, if you have it, is Dimension W.

I personally loved Himouto! Umaru-chan and you can watch it right here on CR.

There's also My Love Story! and My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU!

Other than those previously mentioned, my personal favs from 2015 were Plastic Memories, Blood Blockade Battlefront, GATE, School-Live!, and Is it Wrong to Pick up Girls in a Dungeon?

Log Horizon has been my favorite new series over the past couple of years. Like in Sword Art Online, a bunch of people get trapped in an MMO. Unlike Sword Art Online though, the story is more character focused, open ended, and more about them living in the new fantasy world. There are 2 seasons, both on Crunchy.

Second favorite was last season's One Punch Man. While not on Crunchy, it is available on Hulu. It is funny and action packed story about a new superhero named Saitama who is the titular One Punch Man. After extensive training he is able to defeat any any with one punch which has made superheroing, a hobby he took up for fun, kind of boring.

Some others I have enjoyed are GATE which has one season out and a second in progress, Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers, Anti-Magic Academy: The 35th Test Platoon, Aldnoah Zero, Food Wars, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, and MY love STORY. Currently airing is KONOSUBA -God's blessing on this wonderful world! which while it looks like it could be an ecchi harem series actually seems to be an amazing fantasy action comedy.

I also recommend RWBY and Fairy Tail, both of which have been ongoing for a few years or more by now.

Also, check out the dub of Ghost Stories that has come to Crunchyroll just recently. Instead of a regular official dub instead the official dub a gag dub and is very, very funny.

I liked Food Wars: Shokugeki no Soma. There isn't really a solid romantic plot, but I thought it was pretty funny and overall entertaining.

Stuff you might have missed:

Battle shounen: Hunter x Hunter, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, One Punch Man, Seven Deadly Sins

Sports: Ping Pong: The Animation, Haikyuu!!, Kuroko's Basketball

Fantasy Adventure: Noragami, Nanatsu no Taizai, Arslan Senki, Ushio to Tora

Feels: Death Parade, Mushishi had a second season

Sci Fi: Knights of Sidonia (if you can take the cg), Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans is surprisingly good (continuing this season)

Comedy: Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun, Osomatsu-san, Houzuki no Reitetsu, Gintama (though it's gotten very serious lately)

Mishmash: Durarara, Kekkai Sensen(=Blood Blockade Battlefront)

I'd say Kill la Kill but if you hate ecchi you might be put off by the excessive nudity (because that's a thing).

And Food Wars is kind of ecchi. Their clothes get blasted off when they eat tasty food.

A lot of good shows have already been named. I noticed that you don't care for scifi and that's fine, but one hard science show I would recommend is Planetes. It is hard to find however. One new show not mentioned that I like is Anti-Magic Academy: The 35th Test Platoon http://www.crunchyroll.com/anti-magic-academy-the-35th-test-platoon . It was a very surprising show for me by being both silly and then hitting you hard in the feelings department. But I am a sad, lonely idiot so YMMV. :D

All on here I think.

Gakkou Gurashi
