If you don't want windows 10 better disable the windows update service because it's downloading automatically.

Microsoft isn’t forcing Windows 7 and 8.1 users to upgrade to Windows 10, but they are pushing it on them pretty aggressively. Windows 10 is now automatically downloaded to all Windows 7 and 8.1 machines as a “recommended update” with the Windows Update tool—whether you want it or not.

Microsoft already made a similar push for Windows 10 last fall, but now they are pushing Windows 10 even harder. The change is meant to make the transition to Windows 10 easier for those who still haven’t upgraded, but the automatic download can be frustrating for some users. The download is at least a few gigabytes in size, so if you have a capped data connection, or have no interest in upgrading ever, the automatic download just ends up using data and taking space. Fortunately, we’ve covered the ways you can block the download and save yourself the trouble, or you can always disable automatic Windows updates entirely.

Win 10 isn't that bad people, frankly I prefer it over 8.1.

Yepp. Win 8 and 10 are like Vista to me--something best skipped until a better version comes out.

I remember when Vista came out... "best thing ever" they said... NOPE.

Yeah, but most things that value appearance over functionality will fail. I'd rather my pc didn't try to emulate a smart phone, thanks.

I ended up upgrading to Windows 10 per my prerogative earlier this week, expecting security updates and such to end soon on Windows 7.

I don't like it. The operating systems works fun and I don't dislike it--it feels like Windows 7 with a slightly different GUI. What i don't like is the reason why I suspect Windows 10 is a thing and is free: it just feels like Microsoft's ongoing floundering of trying to create a phone-tablet-computer ecosystem and still failing to realize why people still don't care about Microsoft phones. They were a little too late in the market, and the forced upgrade to Windows 10 is likely about trying to bring multimedia services front in center (e.g., the MS Store icon being in the start menu by default--in fact, the entire right side of the start menu feels like one giant advertisement). Which isn't to say Windows 10 is bad as much as it is compromised. I'm sure there's some overall improvements on the technical end that I probably don't notice since Windows 7 ran pretty well as is. But, if Windows 10 is a part of Microsoft trying to create a phone-tablet computer ecosystem, I'd really appreciate they stopped trying (and failing).

Can someone here perhaps tell me why Windows 10 is so bad?
I've read and heard many rumors, with a debunk rate of no less than 100%, but noone could tell me any other valid reason than "This here program I bought in 1985 won't work with Windows 10". (Well then, isn't it time you looked for an update to that program then, pops?)
System requirements? Haven't changed at all since Windows 7, any Windows 7 capable PC can run Windows 10.

I've been running Windows 10 since it was in beta, everything I use my pc for works fine, I don't experience loss in performance nor any instabilities and my machine runs for weeks at a time without shutting down or rebooting.

Before long Windows 7 and 8 will also stop receiving updates completely, putting your computer at even greater risk.

Now tell me again, why won't you upgrade your PC?
People don't think twice to ram the update button when their Android and/or Apple device tells them there's an update to their operating system, or accept without question the loss of functions when they don't.
But when Microsoft offers a full upgrade to their operating system, for free, it is bad?

About the phone/tablet look argument, Microsoft actually took a large leap back from that with this OS. It's completely customizable. You're lucky to have skipped Windows 8(.1) which pretty much forced that Look and Feel on you.
Sure it's still there, but unlike it's predecessor, you do not need third party applications (Classic Shell) to get the old Windows Look and Feel back.
