You must convert to windows 10

Currently, using 7. But, since the whole "forced" 10 issue came about - factory resets are difficult. Debating at least switching to 8.1.

You should give Windows 10 a try. It's the best OS in my opinion.

I avoided the update. My microphone doesn't work with Windows 8, so I knew to resist Windows 10 for sure.

Then, you have to get a new one that works with 8, 8.1, and/or 10 if you would like to upgrade.

I'll upgrade OSes when I get a new computer. Microsoft has been trying to get people to move on from XP for a long time and you can still find offices using it because it works fine and does what they need it for. Just like people who buy a car and drive it for as long as they can not getting next year's model just because it has XYZ the older model does not have. As soon as I heard about this, I disabled the "Recommended" download and install. I just don't believe in "fixing" what's not broken. Plus, its natural for people to be suspicious after MS has for years charged $$$ for new versions of Windows.

These days, XP is overrated and outdated anyways. 10 is the best in my opinion.
I'll never use Linux because it seems so bear-bones for an OS.

You may hate Win 10 but it is the most secure version of windows and as time marches on Win 8.1 and older will be left further and further behind.

What happens when these old versions of windows can no longer be secured when connected to the internet?

Linux?
