Hey Crunchyroll members,

We've got some really exciting news coming your way this morning! The hit manhwa by Jeho Son and Kwangsu Lee, Noblesse from LINE's Webtoon platform, has got a special 30 OVA animated by the famed Produciton I.G., Noblesse: Awakening, and is premiering RIGHT NOW on Crunchyroll WORLDWIDE!

Noblesse: Awakening is a 30 minute animated film that brings the popular comic series to life as never before and marks LINE Webtoon’s first entry into video content in the U.S. Additionally, the franchise will expand in digital comic format as LINE Webtoon launches a 10-episode limited edition spin-off series entitled Noblesse: Rai's Adventure. The first chapter is now available.

Created by Jeho Son and Kwangsu Lee, Noblesse first debuted on LINE Webtoon in Korea in 2007 and globally in 2014, quickly gaining momentum as one of the platform’s most popular titles. The series is about Cadis Etrama di Raizel who wakes up from 820-years long sleep and starts a new life as a high school student. His peaceful days as a student are soon interrupted by a group of attackers known as the "Unions." Noblesse follows Raizel and his loyal servant, Frankenstein, as they constantly protect and save Raizel’s new human friends from the mysterious threats. The series has amassed almost 400 episodes and accumulated over 2 billion page views since its debut.

LINE Webtoon’s first video content to launch in the U.S., Noblesse: Awakening is an animated adaptation of the popular comic that offers fans a new way to relive the series’ original story arc. The film is produced by acclaimed Japanese anime studio Production I.G, known for their work on animated films Psycho-Pass: The Movie and Ghost in the Shell, and is directed by Shunsuke Tada and Kazuto Nakazawa.

We're very excited for the premiere, and hope you guys enjoy! Please let us know your guys' thoughts below, and be sure to check out the original series at http://www.webtoons.com/en/fantasy/noblesse/list?title_no=87!

This is a really good bit of news, if a Korean manhwa like Noblesse can get animated then its likely that other hits such as 'Tower of God' and 1/2 Prince may also get animated by Japan. Makes me happy to have lived this long, the end goal here is that perhaps even China can get its 'Kingdom' story animated as well. In the meantime i shall be enjoying this one, thanks crunchyroll.

On the show page, you have

Check out the original series on Webtoons here!
That link is broken. Misplaced the "=". The link at the top of this thread is correct though, linking here.

That site is really cool, I've needed this. Lately I've been I've been using Patreon and /r/Comics to discover comics. This one seems great for that goal. I can see myself publishing there in the future.

And of course I look forward to checking out Noblesse, 30 minutes is easy enough to commit to.

I'll give it a try even if I haven't read this webcomic before. I hope that more webtoons get animated like this one, specially Distant Sky, that'll be gorgeous *-*

Even a 30 minute peak inside the Naver world of Manhwa is beyond awesome!
Just the Line/Webtoons releases are enough to make me salivate!

I second this. The great thing about that as well is that korean webcomics like ToG and GoH have come out with so much content weekly for such a long time that it would take a mighty long time to catch up to them in an animated format, regardless of filler. I do hope that we can see that become a reality someday.

This was very enjoyable. I hope they receive enough feedback to go ahead. Yes please! I like the way the animation tightens things up story- wise, and the story is worthy of this group of animators. I keep up with the manga and really like it.
