It's really nice that you are spreading Crunchyroll to different platforms for a multitude of reasons.

1. Easier for regular watchers to watch from anywhere

2. It spreads anime to other users which in turn makes anime more of a common thing

3. I'm guessing it's also nice for your profits

Well keep doing what you are doing!!!

Finally! It's the last app I've been waiting on. One thing that I've noticed on my shield (500G version) is that it won't let me exit the app through the back button. It prompts me if I want to exit the app (which is annoying to begin with) and then I hit OK. After that, it ways that the app stopped responding and restarts the app (which I'm trying to exit). I jut hit the home button, but it is strange behavior.

And since there's room, when I'm in my queue and go to a show, there can be a listing of the show or show season below the main box with the title and description. Kind of like what YouTube does with the recommended videos when watching a video. There was a show where I wanted to rewatch the previous episode before moving onto the current episode and that little bit would have navigating to that episode a little faster.

Thanks for letting me ramble.

Thank you! This now allows one less reason to have to start my PS3 or PS4 just to watch stuff.

I watch crunchyroll on the Nvidia Shield TV. The 1st time I got crunchyroll I sideloaded it via the Google Play website. Some of the menus would show up in portrait mode occupying only the center 1/3 of the screen, and a track pad/mouse was more or less mandatory. The 2nd time I got crunchyroll was via the amazon underground app. All menus were in landscape and the app worked well with the controller. Shoulder buttons would fast ford and rewind. It operated very much like the PS4 app, which I also use. Today, I've installed crunchyroll via the android tv Google play app. I've lost the ability to accomplish any action with one button press. My shoulder buttons don't do anything anymore. I do want to like the official android tv version so I'm going to judge it as a work in progress. This is the first time I've had voice search, I like that. I miss my left and right bumper buttons doing stuff, let's bring that to the android tv version. Let's avoid assigning anything to the trigger buttons, they are sometimes inadvertently triggered when putting the controller down or accidentally dragging the controller by the earphones.

Hey could we get support for The Amazon Fire Tv/Firestick as well? I've tried side-loading the Android tablet version on the device but it has a lot of issues. Its becoming a bigger and bigger install base, so I think it would be worth investing in. i know that the Fire OS is just a slightly altered version of the android OS so It would be pretty easy to port it over I would think.

And what about the android app compatibility with the chromecast? The app often crashes or the buttons (even pause) hardly work.

Feedback: I wanted to thank Crunchyroll for their hard work on the app. I feel like the app is designed very well for the TV with this version. I wanted to provide some of my thoughts about the app and possible future features to be added in. On the home screen where you have your queue and history it would be nice if the shows to the right of the queue were able to show the last few shows in your queue or new episodes of shows you watch. Ex: Yamishibai just released a new episode so it shows that plus the a few other shows that were recently updated that I have in my queue but on the main page so I can get to them faster. Going into the Queue I would love to have an option to change the sort order for either ascending or descending in the settings. On the New tab you have an indicator of what animes I have in my queue on "This Season's Newest" but on "Updated Episodes" you don't have that same indicator. Finally when you're playing an anime and you pause the show, it would be nice if the controls would disappear to let you see the image. Sometimes they will have text for things that is hard to read so ill pause it and you have a huge box that covers a third of the screen to try and read some piece of text that's partially obscured. Otherwise I'm really happy about the update to Crunchyroll for Android TV.

While I do agree that it would be nice to have (manually selectable by clicking a button, definitely not automatic) sort options for the queue in all of the apps, right now, none of them have that, it's not just Android TV. Probably it's because affecting your queue anywhere would need to affect it back on the website and all other apps, too, and that would make for a very large encompassing project.

In the meantime, while you (may or may not be) holding your breath waiting for changes that can take years to occur (if ever), just in case you weren't aware (with 64k CR points, you probably are?), currently you already can change the sort order one show at a time in a browser, and that should affect what you see in the app (it does for all the other apps I use...) Go to /home/queue and notice the two controls to the left of each show icon. One is an up-arrow that pops a show to the top when you click it. The other is a double row of vertical dots which allow you to drag and drop a show from one position in the queue to another. You would probably need to exit the app and restart it afterwards, to see the changes, that's how it works in other apps, at least.

I actually keep my own queue in order of release time and I spend an extra (maybe) 10-15 seconds each night popping the next day's shows to the top so I am ready for tomorrow. By having that chronological ordering, it's very easy. I go to the bottom show (for tomorrow) and just click, click, click the up arrow until the text says "available 1 day from now". That way I can also keep any catalog titles I am currently watching at the very bottom so as to not get them mixed in with the simulcasts, something that you wouldn't be able to do if you clicked on a (future?) sort queue by xxx option. Having an optional sorting method would be nice during the initial couple weeks of each season/cour/quarter, but I would be upset to lose the manual ordering ability which I have now.

When will you work with Amazon? I just bought the kindle fire hd 8 and amazon fire tv and thought I could watch crunchyroll. But it doesn't work for either. What's up with that?
