Anyone know where I can get the APK to sideload it to my firetv?

You can sideload it from your phone (if you have an android phone and had downloaded it on there) using the app2fire (or Fire Installer) app. It mostly works but with some quircky behaviors with the controls. I believe last I checked on the older chrunchyroll app, (Before the android interface was updated, I havn;t tried it since then) the controls wouldn't stop playback once it was started, but you could watch an entire show fine as long as you didn't try to skip pause or stop it. Its not written to interface well with the remote, only touch.

Thank you CR for the new App,

Now we don't have to sideload older versions so that it works with Nexus Player.

The leanback compatibility is very much appreciated also.

Now if only there was a CR app that I could install on my Kindle Fire HD. Alas, we do not live in such a fantasy world.

Just install the apk manually?

Honestly, all of you who are in a situation where your TV doesn't support Crunchryoll or you are stuck with old apps (Apple TV), just get a Chromecast. It's just $35 and supports more devices and services than options five times as expensive. Only requirement is a TV with HDMI input.

But for those of us who use a VPN, it's not an option since you can't VPN on a Chromecast easily.

A dns proxy on the phone is enough as far I know, it's not needed to stream the actual videos trough the proxy, only the initial connection when opening the app has to be proxied to have the app show US anime.

If only there was a trustworthy location to get the APK. I made a Crunchyroll Support request and they said they couldn't provide one.

I use a proxy on my pone 24/7 anyway. All the Chromecast does it plays a link. not actually stream it from the phone. Say, I sent you a YouTube video that is only available in Japan, Even though I could play it, you couldn't. So I'd either need to set up a proxy on the router or something that I haven't thought of yet xD

Crunchyroll doesn't check for ip location on the streams itself last time I checked.

I suggest apkmirror.com, it's a project from androidpolice, it also lists all apk versions if you want to use an older apk for some reason.

Naruto or Naruto Shippuden? The original Naruto is available to premium members only.

It is also only available in the US & Canada region, so if you are located elsewhere in the world that may also be why.

/naruto-shippuden is available to many more regions and to non-premium members. If you can't see that, then perhaps you need to change your mature content settings here: /acct/?action=video
