Of course there are M class planets out there.
ALL of them out of reach for the next few decades or so.
I wouldn't be surprised to find life there..

Let's hope so because apparently we've fucked up the planet so much in a hundred years time we will need to live on another planet

more like centuries... or millennia.

if humanity is still here...

even if we invent a great warp-drive of sorts, we still need stasis chambers that can keep us alive for a very very long time... decades, centuries, millennia, maybe millions of years...

Science has proven that there are approximately 72 habitable planets in the observable universe, however, because the nearest one is light years away, I doubt we'll be visiting one anytime soon.

This image shows 10k Galaxies. It's not all existing Galaxies by far. Just a little part of the sky looked at very thoroughly from the hubble telescope.
Galaxies. Not solar systems. Galaxies.

And that is just in the part of the universe that is observable. Who knows. There might be just as many Universes as there are Galaxies somewhere.
One planet similar to earth? Probably more like thousands or millions.
Will we every reach them? Not unless somebody comes along and actually manages to beat the speed of light by a few orders of magnitude.

One funny fact about the "we found an earth like planet"-news that sometimes pop up. What they actually mean is that they have found a planet similar to earth in the few parameters they can measure. Which isn't a lot. They might look at a perfect copy of earth or at a dead desert and would have a hard time telling the difference for the most part.

I think a more interesting question is: Do you think there is another planet out there that is a near perfect copy of earth, including ourselves. If the universe is endlessly big than that would mean there is a copy of earth out there. One where I am currently writing this post, just like I am here right now. If it is endless big in fact there ought to be an earth of every possible outcome of "history" out there. Somewhere is a planet full of catgirls. Somewhere is a planet full of catgirls and I am their king.

I more wonder if there anything better developed or less life out there?

But I guess if better it has to be far away (star treck or star wars)

Why waste time on finding another habitable planet when we could use our power to take care of this one?

Because anything can happen to this earth that doesn't have to necessarily be our doing

Everything bad that has happened has been our doing. Contamination plays a big part in mother's nature behaviour. I don't believe in the big bang so I don't think a star will explode or the Earth will explode.

I agree. Instead of making Earth a better place, they just wash their hands.

well washing hands can be a life saver..
what big bang are you talking about?..
and who said that planets would explode when they have "expired"?
some would say the gravity becomes too strong for itself to handle being crushed by it that makes a "black hole?" (or atleast what they would see from the skies, its still unclear what its made of or what it are? or am I just not updated on that area?)

The probability that there is an earth-like planet out there somewhere outweighs the chance there isn't. Personally, I would love there to be a planet similar to Earth and able to support life. But the technology isn't there yet to even leave the solar system. Even attempting to colonise Mars or the Moon is a huge task in itself. What's worrying is that we treat Earth like we have somewhere else to go to right after we use up all the resources available here.

Even if we could leave the solar system and visit these exoplanets similar to Earth, there's the whole Fermi paradox related issue...

I don't know. Hopefully not, people are like fly's they breed quickly so I wouldn't want more fly's on different planets.
