really hate/dislike it when its "forced" else its pretty good thing in the more "decent" or tries to be itself while just "need" some "fan-service" in it.

I don't care what the "literal" definition is lol

Same ^

I sure want to see a fan service scene where someone sucks some gal's ass

At that point, wouldn't it be called hentai?

Fan service doesn't bother me. In fact most of the time I really enjoy it. I'm bi so I enjoy big boobs and panty shots, as well as implied yaoi moments. But it does annoy me when there's a lack of plot. I've seen some anime that is fan service heavy but still enjoyable because there is plot. Then I've seen some that's just all fan service and no plot. Then I've seen some anime that doesn't have fan service but has a crappy plot too. It all depends on how well they do it.

Fan service is great if it doesn't hurt the experience, and it can even be a long-awaited payoff, especially in romances. But while fan service is usually associated with sex, it includes stuff like certain fight match-ups that fans want to happen, or returning/reviving popular characters, or team-ups and cross-overs between series.

All of that stuff can be cheap and cliche, but it can also be thrilling and satisfying when done right. Of course fans want Naruto vs. Sasuke again, but is it cheesy fan service to give them what they want, or is it satisfying to get that payoff of finally seeing it happen?

I could give a bunch of examples, but whether fan service is bad depends heavily on the situation, writer, and viewer.

What type of fan-service? Literal fanservice means anything that's included to please fans, boobs and tits are just the most used types of fanservice, there's others though.

Anyways, I love tits, I love ass, and I love a good story. If you can do all that then fanservice isn't a problem, there's just a lot of shows that like to force it and have it in at the wrong moment. Like it could be a sad moment where a character you like dies but then "Oh no my clothes are falling off look at my pussy and my tits Oh NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" That just ruins it for me. There's specific times where I feel a show shouldn't need fanservice.

Really, a lot of companies just need to focus on what they want more, tits/ass, or a good story. Majority of the time they can't mix them together properly, they just fuck it up in every single way. Either stick to ecchi fanservice, or a good story, don't do both unless you can REALLY do it.

Fanservice = basically anime's version of an R rated comedy.

I dont really have a problem though. No one's making me watch ecchi...

Unfortunately I started on samurai bride, i made myself finish it since i started it, but omg. Worst show ever, had a shit ton of 'fan service'.

Girls would fall down with their butts in the air exposing their panties many many many times over. It even and an unrated edition. It was basically Highschool DxD except there was no plot to it at all. At least DxD has a plot that makes me curious.

Fan service is notoriously linked to sexy scenes, moe scenes, cliche moments, etc. But, they can be long anticipated things too. Such as luffy finally reaching the end of the grand line (new world), or when yamada finally asked out shiroshi in yamada kun and the 7 witches. Theres a lot of different things, some are predictable to happen, some are unwanted generally, and some just make the story flow.
Fan service is usually a good thing, but too much is deadly. like PV said at the topic start.

Fan service = pleasing the fans
Lip service = saying pleasantries to targeted people (most likely for personal benefit)
Customer service = pleasing the target customer/satisfying the target customer

Just trying to say that fan service is something done [on generic terms] to please the target audience. It is also a method to be used for free/extra publicity for the sake of the budget. The groaners and complainers were not meant to be the target.

The definition is in the name. Servicing the fans. This is not always done sexually like people tend to assume. Cameo appearances are fan service. References to other continuities within fictional multiverses are fan service. Issac and Miria showing up in Durarara I would consider to be fan service. Easter eggs in video games are fan service.

Nudity? Swim suits? Hot spring trips? Shower shots? Beach trips? That sort of stuff seems to get lumped into fan service!
