What if the concept of science didn't exist?

Then Christians would have free reign to keep us from evolving beyond sticks and stones.

I think any innovative technology we have in the actual day won't exist.

You know, everything came from a theory which was then applied to a science, computers, light, electricity and the internet.

We would live in a world of only theories.

This conversation has an almost endless amount of variables and dependents to cover. Here's my hypothesis in the form of equations.
Proven theories=opposite effect=real world consequence EX Gravity=No gravity= everything floating, the ocean and currents wouldn't exist so neither would errosion or the water cycle ergo aggriculture as we know it wouldn't exist without aggriculture commerce would be different class systems like government would also be a complete mystery et... All this is a hypothesis based on "if" sceince didn't exist, and from there I believed the context you where using ment nothing would replace sceince ergo nothing to replace gravity etc... A huge huge HUGE cluster cluck that sceinntists don't bother with because hypotheticals without a sceintific process wich includes a experament('s) that produce results bgfbfbfgkkjhttffcfdfj'ltrfdrddqssd 2 tired 4 thjhhmhmnmhjyjukjhhuh gtg night.

We'd just refer to what we call "science" by a different term. Considering that the simplest of scientific thought is making testable observations, and all... That's not something that can be easily taken out of the human equation, not without us not being what we currently understand as human.

What does it even mean? I mean... does science no longer exist? As in... wait, how can science not exist? The world cannot exist without science. Even in one made by a God, science exists, it has to... it's not... it's... I... WHAT!? My head hurts... My brain just made the sound an Amiga makes when it tries and eventually fails to read a diskett.

Pffftt! Everyone knows that science isn't real. Computers run on the power of voodoo. I like how Dennis Miller put it when they were talking about cars and engines and he said: "As far as I know engines run on the shrieking souls of the damned." hehehe.

Actually I'd like to write a book where all the science is just magic and illusion. It would start with a guy having nasty headaches and the world switching back and forth from the reality he's always known with science to a world run on magic. Instead of airplanes overhead he would see people strapped to dragons lol. I wish I was a better writer.

If science didn't exist or if we hadn't of learned to improve our technology then I doubt we would still be here. Even in the earliest days we were applying the rules of science to make fire and forge weapons. It is what gave us the edge and allowed us to flourish and become the apex predator. I don't think with our brains that there could have ever not been science. Without it we would have gone the way of the Neanderthals.

^ That right there.

You're basically asking "What if we couldn't think or observe?". Well then we would not be human. We wouldn't even raise to the level of primates to begin with. Hell, we wouldn't even be within throwing distance of primates.

We'd basically be down somewhere with mollusks.

We'd all be stupid as hell

There'd also be a lot less constant debates between atheists and Christians

Science is a PROCESS for logically evaluating phenomenon. It is NOT a set of facts and figures.

In the scientific process one: 1 - observes a phenomenon, 2 - hypothesizes about the nature of that phenomenon, then 3 - Performs controlled, doccumented, and repeatable experimentation to prove or disprove that hypothisis. Based on the information gathered from the experiment, the hypothisis may be modified and the process repeated. If there is evidence which suggests that the hypothisis may be true, it can be called a theory. If there is experimental proof that the hypothisis is true, then it becomes known as a law.

But the scientific method is not the only method. Good-old trial and error has led to a lot of human advancement as well. If no one put a procedure in place we might be a few years behind technologically, but it wouldn't be the end of the world.
