U.S. transportation sucks because the people make it terrible. Like a NY subways! Mostly I see
is litter on the floor. And need I explain the smell at the stations.

If you want better transportation, it's starts of with the community. People need to learn
some decency and respect of what their tax money has given them...

how the us government allocate the resources:
1% infrastructure
2% education
5% research
92% military

not quite, but you get the idea.

First world problems. Meanwhile here in a third world country, i can name that at least 8 million people dont have clean water to drink or that 10 million don't have electricity. We don't have public transportation just taxis that I'm afraid to take because of rape or been robbed. Be aware of your privileges.

Thats true,we who live in first world countries, should be happy about living here and not there where human lives matter so little. If there were less people over there maybe human lives mattered more...but there's i guess this "china effect".Why care about an individual when there's many to replace her/him?

That's cool. Extremely immaterial, but okay.

Just because it's a first world problem doesn't mean that it ain't bothersome. It's just bothersome in an extremely less degree.

Totally fine with it, just a small rant. Yeah, it could make some people's life easier to those who need an effective, comfortable service. Worth mentioning the elderly or disabled

At least, you never been in a place where you just pick your nose and you find out that your booger is black.
Some countries don't have regulated gas emission.

My mother got rid of her asthma after being here in America.

The waiting time of public transit in US is a bitch. Hey, you got to take the good with the bad, bitch.

Poor public transportation depends on where you live. Head up to Seattle and their train that goes from SeaTac to Downtown Seattle (with stops along the way) is pretty nice. $5 one way for an hour train ride is pretty sweet, the cars are fairly modern and they're pretty clean.

I live in San Francisco and believe me, I'm very envious of Seattle's system. Especially in terms of cost. Traveling from SFO to the East Bay takes about an hour and a half and costs $20, one way.

lots of good responses here. I hope you got some answers OP

so much of the USA is rural and also everything is spread out so it just isn't built for public transportation to be particularly useful. cities are different i reckon but i don't live in one so idk how good theirs are

I thought the buses in SF were mobile bathrooms/homeless shelters.

The USA being a big country is one of the reason. I used to live in Hong Kong and believe me when I say the USA is behind on a lot of things.
