Allow me to change my damn username. I'm sick of this bland ass blandness I came up with when I was like 13.

I said I wouldn't change anything about CR, and I stand by that. However, I would add a few things here and there. For example, we have tons and tons of Crunchy Points, and nothing to spend them on. If we're going to have an ability to change our usernames, then let us spend our earned Crunchy Points, to change them.

For example:

10,000 Crunchy Points lets you change your username the first time. Next time, it'll cost you 30,000 Crunchy Points. The time after that, 50,000 Crunchy Points, etc.

25,000 Crunchy Points lets you add 55 characters to comment on anime, manga, and drama episodes. Then you have to build up to 50,000 Crunchy Points to unlock another 55 characters for your comments. You can't get 110 characters from spending 50,000 points. You have to buy 55 characters for 25,000 CR Points, then spend 50,000 for another 55 characters. For a maximum of 350 characters.

Maybe we could get other perks that we could spend Crunchy Points on. That means, we need to have other ways to earn Crunchy Points. Right now, we earn Crunchy Points from... (I don't know how we earn Crunchy Points. All I know is that I have them.)

How about, in addition to whatever it is that we're getting Crunchy Points from, we also earn Crunchy Points from how many anime series we complete (you have to watch the whole episode - including the opening and ending credits. Which means that CR has to fix the problem with the shorts showing that you didn't watch to the very end problem). Each time you earn an achievement, you get Crunchy Points, you get Crunchy Points each time you get quoted in forum posts, but it has to be from different posters that quoted you. You can't get Crunchy Points from the same poster more than once per week (to prevent quote spamming).

So, don't change CR, but add stuff to it to make it more.... engaging?

Yeah, it worked a few months ago, but stopped a while back and hasn't worked since.

I would torture that guy that thought it was funny to put a use paypal option to pay for a subscription only for it to require to have a credit card set up on your paypal account to even use it.
To make this bad joke complete, the CC options are the explicit same.
Tnx for letting me waste time setting up a paypal account and losing money by depositing on it.
Haha explicit ha, hope you get hacked

I would get Crunchyroll a working Roku II application, I am back to using my desktop and my Kindle, and if an anime is on Crunchyroll and Hulu I have to watch it on Hulu to get it onto the TV set.

WHAT I DON'T LIKE:

The only problem I have with Cruchyroll is that, compared to the old days of mass fansubbing, the translations tend to be of rather low quality. Compare CR's Gintama to the Rumbel subs from way back in series one, and you'll see about half of the jokes get lost or warped beyond recognition in CR's translation, I guess either out of laziness to provide context or out of some fear that the audience wouldn't get the original or would get confused by "footnotes" in their subtitles. And the Naruto here is just...unfuckingwatchable. I don't know that I've ever seen worse translation, not in the sense that it's inaccurate, but in the sense that all of the dialogue of this epic saga gets rephrased by a translator with no apparent skill for storytelling whatsoever (there's a good reason why fansubbers in the old days often asked for samples of your English writing in general before taking you on as a translator). I am half-convinced that whoever is behind that translation deliberately makes all the dialogue awkward and shitty just as a troll who knows how popular that show is and how huge the old fansub community surrounding it was before CR came on the scene.

Don't get me wrong, I do not think every show on CR has this problem. I personally thought their Attack on Titan subs were pretty good, despite critics Internet-wide seeming to broadly disagree with me on that. Also thought Oregairu was pretty well done, and I actually tried comparing Sword Art Online to some of the alternatives out there, and would have to say I preferred CR's version to them (in fairness, this was more for want of good competition than out of truly exceptional quality from CR, but that's not to say CR's translation was bad by any means).

The fact that Crunchyroll is almost alarmingly generous with its content — virtually nothing is behind a paywall — and there are still unlicensed fansubs out there being made of some of its shows ought to be proof enough that I am far from alone in my disappointment about this. The name of "that other site" (you all know the one…) was not chosen arbitrarily, I'm afraid.

HOW I WOULD SEE IT CHANGED:

Unfortunately, since CR's "competition" is basically a bunch of unsanctioned volunteers whom they can get shut down with little effort if they step too far out of line, I'm not sure that CR has any real incentive toward improvement in this regard. But if they ever cared to make such improvements, I would say a good approach would just be allowing for multiple translations of the same show to be made on their site, and actually attaching a translator's name/handle to any episode they work on so people will know what they like. I feel this would have more advantages than just resolving complaints about the translations. For example, if I saw the name of a translator whose work I had enjoyed on several shows I liked attached to a new series, I know I at least would be considerably more likely to check it out even if it's not normally my cup of tea. I expect particular translators would also get their own fanbases (on these forums, for example), and who knows what sorts of interesting possibilities for new site features could come out of that?

Only two things I would change.

Number one being the way streaming works. As it stands you need fairly decent internet to be able to stream without any interruptions. I would seek to change this by making the video player the same kind that YouTube and illegal streaming sites use. This would allow people to actually pause the show they're watching, let it load to the end and watch it without any stuttering or freezing.

Number two would be the forum avatars. I get why they were changed to only allowing 200 x 200, but that's a really annoying HxW proportion and throws things out of whack (Take my avatar for example which is supposed to be portrait style). I would change the height dimensions to allow a maximum of 275. This would prevent people from having overly large avatars but still allow some leeway for avatars.
