I've seen this discussion prior to Crunchyroll but I thought I'd give my thoughts on it. Say a seasonal Anime gets aired in Japan censored heavily with black stops over blood, blurs on nudity and gorey parts taken out and then it gets simulcasted the same day. Yet when it gets dubbed (ex: AOT, AkameGaKill) and broadcasted on tv (ex AdultSwim's Toonami midnight run) it gets the uncut treatment Like on DVD/BD where it shows the sword slashes, bodies bleeding massively etc, of course it depends on the type of show, content, target Audience and whatnot if it will require editing. But if it's airing on a children's network/channel such as DisneyXD, Nicktoons or Cartoon Network in morning or afternoon times, it will be midly edited, cropped for story length (ex LBX aka Little Battlers eXperience Seasons 1 & 2, Yugioh Zexal and Yugioh Arc V). Honestly, I know it's a big difference between USA and Japan as to what could be aired and what couldn't be aired back in the day of the late 1990s to mid 2000s to presently. It seems as if the rules have been reversed from Japan broadcasting to USA broadcasting, What do you guys think about anime tv uncut/mildly edited anime broadcasting vs censored Japanese simulcasting/broadcasting? Please explain in detail. Thanks for your time.
