Outlaw? Some of the best schools in Japan are Christian denomination schools. I think you have Japan mixed up with some other country.
I believe that Kansai Gaidai and Baika are both denomination based schools. I taught at NVA when I lived in Japan, but that was a private school.

It obviously isn't outlawed in present day. I was referring to that time period according to that quote. Which made sense, otherwise Christianity would have blossomed in Japan like it does in current day USA.

The Tokugawa government did the right thing by outlawing the religion.

Have proof to back up that claim?

Here's one, we know scientifically the Earth cannot be made in seven days, since there were bacterial fossils dating back 3.5 billion years ago.

But you're probably going to say 1 bible day = 2 billion years or something like that, right? Or that carbon dating is false?

No. You believe in what you do, and I believe in what I do.

?? Are you one of those people who hates what other people believe, if it isn't what you believe? Let me guess your family was Catholic? Most people who are religiously intolerant atheists were raised Catholic or Muslim. It's OK, most born again atheists come from one of those two backgrounds. You need to lessen your hatred for your fellow human. People come from all different walks of life, regions and backgrounds, try not to judge them too harshly because of your own personal beliefs. You'll find that tolerance makes life easier for everyone. Being a hater makes it possible for you to condone atrocities. Hey lets round up those Jews and burn them. Hey lets round up those atheists and hang them. Hey lets go into that Christian village and rape the women and kill the men. Look at it this way, for a looong time I really hated some white people, but most white people are good hard working people who want to help. Once you realize that people are people, and you are one of them, it becomes easier (certainly means less fist fighting on my part). Love all Serve all (just like Hardrock Cafe). Never mind the beliefs, keep your mind focused on what 'YOU' are doing to add value to this world, berating the religious is a waste of time, and wishing they were gone can lead to genocide. Does that help? I hope so, you're too young to be bitter and hateful. I'm not much older than you

Actually he accepted it mainly because one of the ways to learn a new language was through religion. Nobunaga was no fool. He knew what he was doing.

That's a polite way to put how the Christians in Japan were treated.

It was literally genocide.

It was a terrible crime.
The martyrs were scaled in boiling water and burnt alive.
