It's widely agreed upon that people's perceptions of the world are heavily influenced by what kind of media they watch (I think that's called "cultivation theory"), in which case, it's of general interest for media to be inclusive to resemble the real world.

No. Media representation is only a single stance and is skewered by the fact that the main interest is to hook people into it which makes it often exaggerated and/or false. Sad thing is, the general public tends to overlook that fact and are quick to jump the bandwagon so now you have a bunch of people who believe they've 'learned' something.

I like diversity in my entertainment, but I"m white so...it's not like I ever had a problem of not finding media representation.

I just like anime, they represent fantasy characters. I also like video games and I stick with RPG's so no problem in representation there.

TV just sucks.
