I try to check out everything, I've taken a liking to Shaft and Madhouse but I won't watch something just because they made the show.

Thinking opposite, there are definitely studios that consistently fail to bring out the best in shows. For me Kadokawa seems to fall short of being amazing almost every time. In recent years Toei seems to have fallen off.

Mappa is pretty cool. ufotable is alright sometimes, too. Usually Production IG and Bones has some good stuff. Gainax and Trigger are also pretty good. Studio Ghibli speaks for itself. Typically, I don't pay attention to the studio until I'm impressed/disgusted with a show.

Madhouse, Bones, MAPPA and Trigger are studios that will attract my attention for an upcoming show even if the description or preview doesn't really seem like it's my thing.

I don't know nearly enough about studios to judge anime based on the studios, alone.

The only studio I can think of that I'll forevermore preemptively judge is Deen. Log Horizon season 2, man... I had a good laugh looking at a couple comparisons.

There are certainly a lot of studios I respect like Ufotable and Production IG I think I would have to lean towards A-1 Pictures because they produce the most consistently above average shows.

Gonna have to join the long list of DEEN haters lol some of my favorite anime are from DEEN, but DEEN sure has its own quality...
Gonzo and Bee Train anime were a little iffy in the art department imo

I pay attention to Production IG, ufotable, Bones and Madhouse. A lot of high quality from Sunrise and AIC in the 80s-90s. I started noticing JC Staff for Witchcraft Works. KyoAni is undoubtedly good, but I'm not usually interested in what they put out.

Something made by Madhouse or Bones is bound to get my attention. Even though the current Garo series is a dud, I'm always excited for a show made by Mappa.

I could say David Production is one of my favorites as well, even though I only see them as ''the Jojo studio''

Hm honestly quite a few but the one's that come to mind immediately are..
Sunrise
Gainax
Madhouse
Production I.G.

MAPPA was on a roll before they went bankrupt which is unfortunate
Two studios i dislike which is A-1 despite watching everything of there's because they keep adapting what i want they manage to always screw up one way or another and Kyoani despite being talented they've kind of been rusting away as of late. Phantom World however i am enjoying which i honestly feel will end up being a solid series in the end.

Moe Jesus and his Bro Roommate Buddha, how can you fault a studio for that?! Their misses disappoint me more than Madhouse's though. And I have a bit of ufotable bias.

This is our moe savior brought to you by A1

I freaking loved Saint young men and this is a great example of why i can't drop them.

Production IMS is a huge no for me, Active Raid was very bad.

#1 mecha artists are in decline so cg is the norm for sci-fi/mecha.
#2 for anime standards and not ps4/highspec graphics it's just fine.
#3 active raid is far from over and confirmed for two seasons as well. There's a little thing called a 'boost' Gintama mentions in later seasons as it gradually gets better and better budget two other good examples of this is the vast difference between seasons with Gravion and Girls bravo as well so you can never be sure what will happen from start to finish which is part of the fun of discovering a good series. I'm assuming your reasoning is fps/cg and budget and honestly none of it is bad at all.

I really don't get this constant jaded mentality with the community and cg in later years as the anime community has expanded rather its here 4chan or elsewhere there seems to be this increase of pessimism towards this regardless of how it looks.

Nope, I watch everything. Sometimes I'm disappointed by the character designs though.

Blassreiter gave me eye cancer, so -1 for Gonzo.

I have seen Blassreiter on dvd four times actually 'still' not on bluray and while i will say the frame rate does somewhat bug me after the second watch it wasn't that bad at all. One series however that i will never change my opinion on is Sidonia no kishi which i waited for the bluray to only be disappointed at how terrible the fps still was.

However they still put a lot of work into the creation of this series so it's a shame considering everything else is good.

Mine have been as of recently:

1. Shaft
2. Madhouse
3. Bones
4. Manglobe (I like the subdued color palette)
5. Pierrot

Honorable mention: Gainax

I don't think there's many that I don't like, although I dislike what Bridge did to Fairy Tail after 2013

I think it's hard to say a studio is good or bad, every studio is going to have its ups and downs. I don't really have a favourite one, I do have least favourites though. Those being Toei and pierott. Both havereally messed up some awesome manga that deserve better. I do still watch and enjoy the stuff they make, but the low quality of a lot of them just pisses me off so much (One Piece, Dragon Ball Super, World Trigger, Toriko, and for Pierott Tokyo Ghoul and Naruto).

I'm trying to check out almost every anime of the season so i'm not really taking studios into account. However i know what studio are goods and i also know that when some of them make a show i will like it.
The studio which work i really like: Madhouse, Kyoto Animation, Keys, Shaft, P.A Works, Typemoon
I know there is many others but i don't recall them especially so they might do some good work but i won't be watching a show because of them producing it.
I wouldn't say that i hate it but i dislike Toei Animation policies, because they lengthen out anime a lot, re-use cut and drag on too much. For instance in my opinion they destroy One Piece and World Trigger or rather they are doing a decent job, but that could be so much better ...
