Let me know if a thread like this one exist or not.
Thanks a bunches.

I'm wondering how long it will take for anime shows to use the boundary line. Meaning it's an anime series that is in the middle of a cliché and originality. Do I have to wait for years until there is an anime series like that? Will that ever be an anime like that? What about anime shows that have both a cliché and originality? What are your views on this?

I feel like you're contradicting yourself, somehow.

Cliché and originality? Mmmhh? Your lie in April, I think. It's like a typical romance/comedy/slice of life type with some interesting spice that will later surprise you.

Something that is cliche is unoriginal. From what I understand, you're looking for something original and unoriginal at the same time, and I find that contrarictory so let me clarify.

Are you looking for somethine cliche with an original twist?

i.e. A generic highschool harem flick, but all the characters are actually magical catgirls from outer space.

Or are you looking for something original with cliche elements?

i.e. An epic space opera with magic but all the characters are normal highschoolers who rely on overused comedy tropes to appeal to the audience.

If you are looking for something cliché and peculiar at the same time, i recommend you the Keys studio anime. They pretty much have the same overall scenario but are all unique in their own.

Well, there's Magica Madoka which starts out fairly cliche then charges off in its own direction. You mean something like that?

Or School-Live! which takes all the usually moe tropes but repackages them in a decidedly non-moe setting.

I'm confused on what you want. Are you looking for something that uses cliches and tropes and uses them to make a great series? If so, there are Anime that have been in that way.

Or.

Are you looking for a series that uses cliches and tropes, yet is original with it using anything that hasn't been done before? If so, then you might need to go back and question originality itself. Since everything fiction is inspired from some sort of event or project, I would even go as far as to say that originality cannot be achieved or is very....very difficult to do. Remember, tropes are not bad, but can be overused.

Two Words: Good Luck.

It's mean, but it's true. Unless if YOU haven't seen it before, almost any trope, cliche, or idea, especially in Anime, has been done in some form or way. It's not a bad thing; that's why we have genres. It's HOW you use tropes that matter.
