Always wanted to play and finally started super late at 21 but I've scrimmaged/practiced with friends lately and it's the best thing ever!! Looking forward to warmer weather so I can consistent play outside everyday but right now I gotta improve my fitness level/stamina. Really tough stuff but I got this. Been learning more rules and other stuff through fifa16 too when I'm not in the field lol. My friend gave me his old brasil jersey but I don't like yellow and green haha but anyway I'm hoping to build up my strength/ball skills so I can play back home away from college with some local teams or something

Anyone play on here and have any training they do that might help? Post your techniques! Favorite players/teams/etc? anything goes. friends got me cheering for real madrid and barcelona but i'm a really big fan of the uswmt!!!! :-))

I watch Manchester United. Used to play when I was a bit younger a lot more than I do now. Played in the local men's league for a few years. Haven't played in a while though. Usually use basketball as it's easier to get a group going for that. You need a decent amount of stamina for soccer so anything cardio is good. Workout your legs a bit as well. Techniques... would be a bit difficult to explain with words so I'd just recommend watching videos and doing drills over and over. A lot depends on the position you want to play. I was center mid (playmaker).

I don't, last time I played american football I got mauled by a tackle and broke my clavicle (the bone connecting your arm to your shoulder, it hurts like bloody hell, luckily that was back when I was 8 and my body was basically made of rubber back then) from there I kinda got a phobia of getting tackled by someone in football.

Oh! Last time I played that was when I was 6, I accidentally kicked the football (he, you guys in america call it soccer, but it's actually a football) into another person's head and knocked them out. Don't really got a football phobia but I still don't like accidentally headshotting people so...

I did play soccer.

Until I was too old that is.

Nothing more satisfying then making your team hate you because your way of defense brings pain to them.

And of course stepping out of the way so the goalie who is a pain that insults you for not listening to them and letting them get extremely hurt is also equally as satisfying.

Also can't forget the blood from getting hit so often.

I must had been some weird mix between masochist and sadist when playing... XD

I used to play back when you could slide tackle from behind and kick back to the keeper.

Better late than never! I literally just learned how to play about a year ago (I was 23) and I was able to make it onto my school's soccer team. I even got to play in a handful of games last season and now I think I'm hooked for life haha. My favorite jersey is my adidas Spain national team jersey from the 2002 World Cup. I also have a nike Manchester United jersey from around the same time that I got from my uncle and a fake Filippo Inzaghi AC Milan jersey that my dad gave me. Tryouts for my school are in the summer so hopefully I'll be able to play again in the fall but regardless I think I want to try playing for a local club team as well once I'm finished with college.

I think that some really good easy training you can do is to just find a wall (preferably surrounded by grass/turf/etc) and continuously pass the ball to yourself. It will help you with your touch and to become more comfortable passing/receiving passes. As for your fitness/stamina I would just suggest simply going out to a track once or twice a week and running a mile or two. Most of our team was really out of shape at the beginning of the season so our coach had us on the track running the Cooper test (basically run as far as you can in 12 minutes, our goal was 2 miles) and eventually we ended up with a couple guys that could play a solid game for 90 minutes.

You can't be a Madrid and a Barca fan at the same time haha you gotta choose one! I'm not really a fan of either but if I had to choose between the two I'd probably go with Real Madrid. I'm definitely a fan of the USWNT as well as the USMNT but I'm conflicted because the Japanese in me wants to root for the Samurai Blue & Nadeshiko Japan.

My favorite club teams
United States (MLS) - San Jose Earthquakes & New York City FC
England (BPL) - Southampton & Everton
Spain (La Liga) - Atletico Madrid & Sevilla FC
Germany (Bundesliga) - Borussia Dortmund & Schalke 04
Italy (Serie A) - AS Roma & AC Milan
France (Ligue 1) - Olympique Lyonnais & Olympique de Marseille
Japan (J1 League) - Yokohama F. Marinos & Gamba Osaka

as for rm and barca is it because they are ultra rivals... i think i'll go with rm too because i don't like messi too much
