Have you ever had a false awakening?
Posted 2/10/16 , edited 2/10/16
"A false awakening is a vivid and convincing dream about awakening from sleep, while the dreamer in reality continues to sleep. After a false awakening, subjects often dream they are performing daily morning rituals such as cooking, cleaning and eating." - (Wikipedia, 2016)

I remember at least one time when this happened to me.

Not sure what you mean by a waking dream. I'm assuming that means you're awake, yet it feels like a dream. If that's the case then the answer is no, because in a false awakening you're still asleep. It just seems like you're awake.

So your dreaming you're awake? Sorry, I'm trying to understand this as I do not dream.

Yes. You're dreaming that you already woke up and are carrying on with your day like always.

I pulled this from Wikipedia. Maybe it'll help.

Ah ok that makes alot more sense.I don't really dream so I don't think I have this happen but I have woken up believing something has happened in the past that did not happen and being so uterrly convinced it took me all day whether or not to know if it was real.

Alright, glad I could clarify things for you.

Yes, woke up to my alarm clock and went to school. It felt like the whole day, but than I really woke up and figured out it was a dream. Still had to go to school! That was a long time ago, lol.

I've had a few nightmares where I've woken up, so happy to be out of the dream, only to realise that I'm not awake and my nightmare reoccurs and this could happen about 4 times before I actually wake up for real. It's rare but I hate them!

Constantly

My dreams are usually just variations of real-life events.
I also have entire days that feel like I've already lived them before.

This happens to me quite regularly, especially when I'm scheduled to do something really early. I've actually dreamt of completing a daunting spreadsheet task, and finishing work that's been backed up for days, only to actually "wake up again" and find that I haven't even gotten out of bed. These situations actually feel worse than a hangover.
