Nah dude, if people who challenge my words with out really reading to paying attention to what I said, Im not going to respond.

Same with other people too, you have not listened to a word I said, and you try and trap me in a never ending argument while you question bits and pieces of my words without full context, disfiguring my words and continuing a pointless argument.

I've things to do man, I can't spend my time answering every stupid question.

Want to prove my point? continue to question this word and me.

Well i still go back to what i said before, to each their own. You prefer a control pad, i prefer a keyboard and mouse.
And i am very experienced in both so i feel i can say what is better, but its just my opinion. Iam not trying to claim superiority(or that one is superior).
How anyone can play a FPS with a control pad is beyond me, unless its all that they have ever know.
But at the end of the day its all on the beholder.

Depends on the game.

Action games like Tales of Zestiria and Hyperdimension Neptunia I use a controller. MMOs and strategy games I am keyboard and mouse all the way.

lol. Although impractical to hold, it does solve the problem on consoles of using in-game text chats.

Controllers are much more versatile than people give them credit for. It can easily use modifier keys to bring up different input sets greatly expanding the available actions.

They both have advantages that each player may value differently with different games.

For FPS games I find keyboard and mouse better for precision aiming but controller better for positioning/sneaking. The stick input allows for more control over the magnitude of the movement outside of a simple toggle... but the tradeoff is that there is a dead zone at the center when switching direction for either movement or aiming. This tradeoff costs you a few ms and may make it harder to stop your cursor precisely.

I will use either hardware interface depending on the game.

Controller:
Platformers (requires better control over movement)
SOCOM (i prefer a stealthy playstyle and the sticks work better for that)
Madden (I don't have a choice but as is it is better with controller... but the idea of pinpoint passing mechanics with a mouse.... EA WHY NOT!?)
War of the Roses (I prefer better control over my footwork to be able to better position myself to strike with the head of my weapon, also parrying with the stick is unnatural and confusing to see since most of the player-base uses keyboard/mouse... I can better fake them out

Keyboard/Mouse:
RTS games
League of Legends
Archeblade
MMOs
FPS games that don't have precise movment

^decent post but i dont agree with or understand what you mean about the precise movment thing?
But yeah that's your opinion and its cool.
I have not played a FPS with a control pad since cod 4 and i wont be ever again lol.
But yes, as said i like control pad for fighting games and Jrpg's and survival horrors and that.

Many shooters these days have a 3 speed system that is very compatible with a keyboard. You have a walk/run toggle and a run/sprint toggle. Some of the games that I played had full analog support allowing for even slower movement speeds at a lower volume which allowed me to sneak up on opponents. My style in shooters has always been more about positional outplays rather than mechanical/aiming. This leads me to actually enjoy shooters which were properly designed around a controller, but for others I will stick with keyboard/mouse.

(oh and I might be an immersion whore and don't like the way keyboard/mouse games tend to interrupt animations abruptly making things look silly- to be fair its an issue to with controller games as well but its more common on PC since people like absolute control and response...

Its always a trade-off between twitchy/response and momentum/real-animation)

I have no problms at all with keyboard mouse and think its way better for quicker , percision aiming. But hey, i haven't played a game with a control pad for years so maybe its better now?
But yeah it's an endless debate i guess. Lets all agree to disahree? :P
As you said though, different games one is better than the other, also as you said, some games are designed for a control pad. (like assasins creed, even dragon age felt like that, etc).

It just depends on the game. I have both setups on my PC. Majority of the time I use the K/M combo over the Controller. Arcade/rail/shooter games tend to favor controllers more due to less complexity involved. I wouldn't use a keyboard if I were playing Street Fighter or anything similar. Same goes for CoD games. If I'm playing an MMO/RTS/RPG or pretty much anything that needs a lot of macros or contains a far more complex interface/UI then 99% of the time I'm going to use a K/M.

Some games it doesn't really matter though. I can think of a couple of games I prefer the opposites that usually cater to them. Such as Battlefield games or FFXIV.

It really just comes down to preference and what you're playing. There's only a few examples where one is clearly better than the other. I use a left handed K/M anyways so you never know with me.
