Just remaking a series might not fix problems with it. Evangelion had three tries at the ending, and then I got the platinum edition which had two more endings. Now we have the Evangelion 1.11, 2.22, etc. with still another ending.

The Gantz live action movie has a different ending than the anime version, but it still has a lot of unanswered questions.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni

The production budget was terrible for such a good anime. I would love to see it remade with modern high-budget anime quality (Fate/UBW, Sound! Euphonium)

Oreimo - duh

Naruto - if all the stories in episodes were all compiled into a single linear story, it would be absolutely incredible.

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Season 1 - I understand they were just starting to get the series underway in the beginning, but several things about it made it really tough for me to get into. The art I absolutely hated.

This year marks the 20th anniversary since the release of one of my all time favorite anime shows: ESCAFLOWNE!!!

For the past couple years I've been hoping the powers that be would remake it in 2016. I personally didn't have a problem with those character designs like some ppl did, but would just love to see it redone with new top notch leading edge animation. Something like what Ufotable or even PA works or A-1 pictures are capable of.

Highschool of the Dead... Actually I'd like the manga to continue first :(
Sankarea needs to cover the rest of the manga; the anime ending is suck.
Deadman Wonderland and Air Gear as well.

As a total remake... Trigun and Berserk.

Kingdom
Muv-Luv Total Eclipse (We need the trilogy to be adapted first however.)
Kimagure Orange Road [1987] (manga is pretty different)
Mobile Suit Gundam 0079/Z/ZZ [1979/1985/1986] (ZZ is so far from Tomino's canon it's ridiculous.)
Super Dimensional Fortress Macross [1982]
Jitsu wa watashi wa (You don't even know..)
Air Gear
Kimi no iru machi (It was nice for a highlight reel.)
Banner of the stars [1999] (Seriously, please happen.)
El hazard [1995] (it needs to happen.)
Warning huge list ahead

Golden boy [1995] was great and probably would be very hard to recapture the magic however 50 some episodes would make this series solid.

Gintama first five seasons deserve the treatment while season 1-2 have the most issues if i recall.

Despite the fact Mazinger and Getter robo have a hundred adaptations already they're deserving of a conclusive ending with a good budget.

Haruhi probably seriously needs it, i find it hard to believe a series with that much potential is what the adaptation makes it out to being.

As much as a masterpiece Bubble gum crisis [1987] is i would love a continuation that actually finishes the series that's not 2040 and brings back the original staff, if they're still alive anyways.

Also plenty i would like to see return that doesn't need a remake.
Personally i would love to see Juuni Kokuki [2002] 'twelve kingdoms' but for them to do it justice and actually keep with it they would have to adapt like legend of the galactic heroes with 100+ ova's i'm assuming.

Suzuka's adaptation was great however an updated art style plus actually finishing the series for my favorite romance would be very welcomed.

Neon Genesis Evangelion [1995] just needs a continuation to finish the story, rebuild is technically that however it's not the manga.

Lastly i would probably say Captain Harlock and Yamato are in need of a remake that finishes the series (still haven't watched these however i know a little history on these series.)

I was honestly thinking Escaflowne however nothing was wrong it until the very end. It's something i feel potentially could go a little farther as well.

No.. none of these studios could handle it despite i get some favorites from them admittedly, a return of Sunrise and bones or a different studio like production I.G working on this is the only choices available.

I'm a big Evangelion fan, and I'm not sure if I'd want to see a remake of this that's animated. Personally, I think it's perfect the way it is. I'm talking about NGE 1995 and EoE which most consider to be part of the same canon. All the answers are there. If it was going to be re-adapted, I'd like to see it in live action, which of course is never going to happen. A guy can dream. I'd like to see Revolutionary Girl Utena remade, cutting out the Black Rose arc, and taking some of the repetitive aspects out of the series. Darker than Black could've been a lot better if the major plot point of Heaven's gate was expanded on as well.
