So I just finished reading Slam Dunk, and it is now probably my favorite anime/manga series ever (I'm obsessed with basketball). I didn't like Kuroko all that much cause it was too supernatural. Anyways, I was looking to see if there is a better basketball anime/manga than Slam Dunk, and people all say that Dear Boys, Ro-Kyu-Bu, Real, and Kuroko are all great basketball anime, so I was wondering, are any of them better than Slam Dunk, or is Sakuragi still the king?

I'm looking for the best realistic basketball story possible, which is probably why I loved Slam Dunk but wasn't too fond of Kuroko.

I've moved this to the Advice, Info, Recommendations forum.

I don't have any specific basketball recommendations (I also didn't care much for Kuroko past season 1-- up to a point it seemed they were just being creatively hyperbolic to describe real things, but then, as you say, it got to be pretty much over-explained magic basketball, and lost its appeal), but if you're willing to branch out a bit, you might want to try Haikyu!! (high school volleyball).

Thanks, I didn't know what forum to put it in haha. Also, I've heard good things about Haikyu and will try it, but I was asking about basketball, thanks for replying though!

Well, not the best in many ways: not very animated, older, and early CGI attempts throughout. But it is about basketball and there is a plot, and I'm pretty sure that super-powers aren't involved. It's here on CR, so you might give the first episode or two a try anyway...
