-so, I'm [not] curious about this;

Why is it that in war, anything and everything can be justified as a necessary evil-- from bombing, starving, and mass killing civilians, to the destruction of environments, capital, and essential infrastructures-- for the victorious side;
yet, in love, relatively insignificant things like rape, adultery, blackmail, etc. are frowned upon and are deserving of quite severe punishments, even for the victor?

Even if one manages to win in love, whom the battle was fought for doesn't give quite the level of praise as the one who wins a war. Does this not seem odd?

Well first, killing in war does not need "consent" (Because that would just be bothersome. I mean, if I need the consent of everyone who 9/11ed or broke into my house, I be pissed off too.) whereas Love kinda does need consent and truthfulness, not lies and manipulation, which is usually NOT the things you want to build a relationship with.

War bores need of killing out of necessity, and anything that contributes could invariably "save" lives, whereas Love means giving the person another truth so they can make informed decisions about you.

Well that's just it. If one is involved in such a situation such as war, neither side is praised, but defended by the outcome of victory. When one decides to go to war with another, war is simply having no rules, only victory. Humanity thrives on their ability to do anything in their power to win, we are all twisted and subject to ruthless behavior, at any means necessary, this is war, no sugar coating it, all humans are deceiving and monsters in their own way.

Love is fairly similar* neither side is praised, just defended on the promise of victory. For whatever way it was played out love is essentially just another means of war between humans, unethical, wrong, degrading, we think love is a way to solve a problem, just as we see war. No matter what we do, no matter how we do it, it is always justified as the outcome of victory for either side. Love isn't what you think it means, just as war is not what we believe it will be.

Win a war, gain victory, lose a war, gain victory. Win at love, gain a victory, lose at love, gain a victory. This is what the world simply is. Victory in defeat, the methods that we use are but a means in which have no end, so we create such a reality.

All's fair in love and war.

Except of course weaponry banned by the Geneva Convention.

Like mustard/chlorine gas.

Not that that's stopped some people...
