I think it's bad it will create rationing and shortages.

How would it create rationing and shortages

All other nations with universal healthcare have issues with it. Wait times are longer yea it's "free" but taxes are also much higher. The American model has issues but overall it's better and more efficient.

But that doesn't mean rationing and shortage and sure their system are longer but you won't owe a shit ton of debt to hospitals, I choose wait time over being in debt.

We should just pump lead treated water to homosexuals. Be a lot easier than making sodomy illegal.

It isn't a dog fighting bill if you actually read the thing in entirety....which no one apparently bothers to do. It covers a host of issues related to animals and the specific part I mention is included in the beastiality portion at the end. Pages 20 & 21 Section 158.

& no...they intentionally did not mark out the work humankind in the document when they were redlining it. Downplay it all you want though lol, when anyone is editing a document for modern revision you do not go, eh let's leave the mankind part alongside animals. - but i do understand where you are coming from, and perhaps some did feel that way.

GOP Senator Rick Jones, one of the sponsors of SB219, said that the language referring to "crimes against nature" was purposefully left intact in order to give the bill a chance to pass through the senate: - That is what is sad. It shouldn't have to be purposefully left intact in order to have a chance to pass, why would it not pass for what is obviously the right and reasonable thing to do?

Sec. 158. (1) Any A person who shall commit COMMITS the
24 abominable and detestable crime against nature either with mankind
25 or with any animal shall be IS guilty of a felony , punishable by
26 imprisonment in the state prison FOR not more than 15 years, or if
27 such person THE DEFENDANT was A SEXUALLY DELINQUENT PERSON at the time of the said offense, a sexually delinquent person, may be A
2 FELONY punishable by imprisonment in the state prison for an
3 indeterminate term, the minimum of which shall be 1 day and the
4 maximum of which shall be life.

Was there more text in this then you mentioned in this post? Or are you making a mountain out of a molehill? You do realize sodomy is not the only sexual act that could be called a "crime against nature with mankind", right? Having sex with a human corpse would be one example.

Mmm..the title is slightly misleading, but all titles spin it the juiciest way. The Bill is an update on an existing animal cruelty bill last updated in the 50's - so no i am not uninformed lol - the misguided can be for your own judgment. The Bill does have implications to humans and homosexuals. Section 158, as I provided (page 20 of the doc), the one word makes it applicable to humans - "against nature or humankind"

They were updating the bill, and instead of crossing the word humankind out they left it because it would have started a debate over the issue. Which brings us to my point of bitching; as I just posted, I am aware of the Federal legislation in existence that supersedes any state, but my point is that if we have these federal mandates then it should not be a point of contention to make state legislation reflect the Federal mandates. Because to me, choosing to leave that part as is simply condones the anti-gay sentiment/culture. There is no reason to leave it because there is no reason for striking it out to involve a contentious debate. & That is what I don't like...

From GOP Senator Rick Jones: "The minute I cross that line and I start talking about the other stuff, I won’t even get another hearing. It’ll be done.....Nobody wants to touch it. I would rather not even bring up the topic, because I know what would happen. You’d get both sides screaming and you end up with a big fight that’s not needed because it’s unconstitutional." "But if you focus on it, people just go ballistic....If we could put a bill in that said anything that’s unconstitutional be removed from the legal books of Michigan, that’s probably something I could vote for, but am I going to mess up this dog bill that everybody wants? No." - Ridiculous. Whoever starts a fight over something that has federal mandates in place does not deserve to hold office.

So did they create a new piece of legislation to target gays? - No, but they allowed a derogatory piece of legislation to continue to exist because there are some out there who can't accept reality of Federal legislation, and Michigan Senators are too afraid to confront these peqople.

Well, if it says humankind that would include heterosexuals too. But I won't deny there are homophobic implications in the bill. I admit I didn't read much about the bill, not only because it's too absurd & essentially unenforceable, but because Michigan is a cesspool of legislative sludge & political deception. In Flint & a few other counties it quite literally is a cesspool. Not only have thousands of people been essentially poisoned, they're still deprived of clean drinking water. Not only should Rick Snyder resign in disgrace, he should be put in jail. I love Michigan, from the beaches & intimate cities of West Michigan, to the big cities & college towns of East Michigan, to the beauty of Northern Michigan & the Upper Peninsula. But Michigan s fucked right now. Geographically it's wonderful & very unique. Politically it's repulsive & barbaric.

I feel like your comment could be a satirical "Pure Michigan" commercial. Those are great, but boy does Michigan sure have problems right now.... This bill is a little absurd though

South Dakota recently passed a law requiring people to use the gender of their birth in bath/locker rooms; now that is a good law.
