So would I stop watching if every character was written as an individual and not a cookie cutter insert? Yes, that would be great but I would miss the fully fleshed out versions of those characters.

In truth though some times it is nice to turn your brain off and watch something like K-On or Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA ILLYA

Yes absolutely. I'm not particularly fond of the moe loli pantsu tsundere kind of genre/character(s) anyway. I mean I don't mind them, but they are not necessarily needed in my opinion.

Given that when I started watching, those elements were not present in the shows I was watching, I would say yes. (Sci-fi was my gateway to anime).

That said, I have adapted, so unlike some, I don't get upset by those elements unless they are heavily overused.

To answer OP I'm old. Been watching anime longer than many on CR have been alive.

You're just a young whippersnapper to me.

Option #1

Option #2 would be convincing my wife to call me baka instead of idiot or stupid face - not going to happen and the attempt would be painful.

Considering that moe and tsundere characters have been in anime at least since the late '70s I think this is a silly topic. Anime characters have been like this for almost 40 years now, ever since I've been watching it. Get used to it, it isn't going away anytime, ever.

Yes. I watch anime for plot (and usually good animation). I don't mind those elements mentioned, but honestly I don't like anime that's just "fanservice". But a lot of current anime included a couple of those elements in a character, so I think some anime would be better off without it. I get that it's supposed to be a break in humor, but some anime doesn't need that since the theme of it does not relate or it distracts from the real story.

yes, i never watched those shows to begin with

also clearly you either haven't seen enough anime or have only seen certain genres of anime if you think taking away moe, loli, pantsu, and tsunderes would make an anime more serious

watch some shoujo or comedy series man lol

No moe? Either you missed that word from the title or I'm not sure if you are using the same meaning as is intended.
