Title. BUT on all 2 that I use 90% of the "users" are actual bots that are easily deduced but I find it so annoying that there are so many but these sites don't really do anything to stop them. I'm pretty sure I see more bots than actual human beings.

Does this happen to you, if this applies to you?

I've seen bots, spammers and scammers everywhere on the net. It's to the point that I don't really trust anyone online.

Just report the fake profiles and move on.

I didn't know that before. But yes, in recent times I'm starting to believe some of the members are bots... or fake profiles put there to garner interests from "real" people.

One time, this super hot hunky guy sent me a message, and I thought Wow I'm lucky. But then he sent me an address to some fishy site... and I was like I'm so let down lol... got my hopes up for nothing.

Lesson learned in life: if something seems to good to be true, it is.

I'd recommend OKcupid probably then. User moderation is pretty aggressive there, so I've rarely encountered bots. And the few times I have I just flag them and they're gone in a couple minutes.

A lot of sites use bots on purpose their own and even allow 3rd party ones if they provide kickbacks etc.
Why?
1. More money if it's a pay to message.
2. The bots makes out there is more users then there actually are and are more likely to attract more users.
So they aren't exactly going to be rushing to get rid of them now are they..?

One site I used years ago showed around 20 people all online at the same time with the same pictures and name but different locations. All where reported and even posted on the sites forum which their staff checked several times a day yet months later the bots where still active.
They also used their own hello bots. If you suspended your account for 3 weeks you would get notifications by email that people where messaging you. (when no one actually could as your message/profile links where disabled.)

If sites you are using are kinda botty. Report a few and bookmark their profile links and go back in a week or so to the reported profiles. If they are still active then delete your account as that site is likely going to be a waste of your time.

Wouldn't those sites have their own bots to bulk up the number of female members?

They do.

On some sites the female membership is < 5%

Well I'm never going to use a dating website considering I despise humans of this reality however.

Bots are mostly used on websites to bait people in for either visits to grant them money or just to get you to think differently so you give them your money.

I saw plenty of them with the supposed female users, but not as many with male ones. Either way I scored really well on OKC because I ended up in a relationship with a guy I went out with and he's honestly one of the best people I know, I'm really glad I kept trying even past all the filth.

Also another thing thats been annoying me is either guys saying they are girls or these sites algorithms are really off so when you say "I like women" it reads it as "You like both"

Many dating sites use fake female profiles to lure unsuspecting males. The Ashley Madison hack recently showed light on the tactics used on dating sites. The men usually heavily outnumber the actual real women on these sites.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-intersect/wp/2015/08/25/ashley-madison-faked-female-profiles-to-lure-men-in-hacked-data-suggest/

All the female friends I know always complained about getting spammed by guys on dating sites. When I ventured into dating sites years ago, I had to fight through the fake profiles to find someone and then compete with 100's of other males to get a particular females attention.
