I know that there are a LOT of people out there (including me) that LOVES to watch gore movies... I'm only 13 and I saw my first R rated (only R rated coz of my parents freaked out...) when I was 9... and loved it... my dad banned horror movies from our house coz it's apparently bad 4 ur "spirituality"... so, what's ur opinion?...
...

Is it sick? Violent? Or just a source of entertainment?...

For me, they are quite...entertaining. <-- Wow I sound...evil. I am not even close to the R rated thingy but I still watch it. ^0^ All online. Although a few times I actually borrowed a few from friends. @_@ Watched it quietly... Personally, if your not going to run off crying and be haunted by it for life and you actually WANT to watch it, sure, why not watch it? I mean, gore is just another kind of entertainment genre like comedy, romance etc. >.< Doesn't matter when you watch it as long as you want to, you enjoy it, you aren't scarred by it, good enough? <-- Strictly my opinion in case I kinda made it sound like a fact. -_____- I love them, but it does affect me a bit when I'm sleeping at night T.T so I try my best to control how much I watch gore movies.

I joined this thread wondering why it was wrong to like "Al Gore". lol
I like gore since I like anything that stimulates my senses in a film. But too many gore films only show gore without a good storyline, acting, etc. I guess it's everyones right to like or dislike gore. But I do think it's not good if gore gets too extreme where some people are desensitized. I do agree with age restrictions on gore.

lol I thought the same thing. Thought we were going to talk politics how he would run for president or something ^^ But anyways, I like a good grose out, something a little different that u don't expect. But there's always movies like Hostle that really pushes it =\

It can be entertaining or scary, but its up to you. I remember watching my first gore movie when I was 9. Me, my brother, my cousins and friends watched 4 consectutive gore movies. That was pretty entertaining.

I agree. "Saw" pushed it to the limit. Hostel sort of ran passed the line and fell of a cliff somewhere. Not to mention hostel wasn't a good film. It just concentrated on keeping everyone occupied with gore and sex.
