Yes and no. I was in debate and forensics in high school, so I wore a tie every weekend for four years. That being said, I'm in a wheelchair and never truly tied it myself. I've seen my father tie my tie so many times that I'm sure I can recreate it easily enough.

Are you a civilized human being or a barbarian?

I can tie a tie, and used to do so frequently when I was into wearing ties. But it's been a long time. But I think I'm partly barbarian because I only ever learned one way and I don't know what it's called.

So, just now I went looking to see if I could find out, and wow! I have never seen some of these fancy-smancy knots!!

Look at all you tie-tiers. I didn't think most men around my age or younger knew how, so color me impressed.

During our final presentations at college I had to tie the neckties for probably half of the guys in my major. It was actually quite difficult, as I found it a lot harder to tie a tie on someone else.

Ultimately I wound up tying most of them on myself and then carefully slipping them off without undoing the knot. Plus, I'm pretty comfortable with my sexuality and all, but the act of helping/being helped with a tie has always seemed oddly intimate.

Used to, but I haven't worn a tie in a long time.

not really, i haven't worn a tie since high school because it was part of the dress code... and even then, i simply asked someone to tie it for me, and then just kept it as it is when i got home so i don't need to tie it for the whole month/year whatever lol...

if i do it myself, the knot becomes skinny or unsymmetrical... it doesn't become like a nice fat triangular like knot.

yeah i don't like wearing ties in general, i don't like the feeling of something around my neck... i don't wear them to job interviews or even weddings.
