Lets face it here in America the "War on drugs" has failed. We are giving money to drug Kingpins, giving more reasons for young men(especially black and latino) to join gangs and enact gang violence. Sitting on a market that could revolutionize medical science, made the U.S into a prison state, and costing us too much money.

No

We should execute the drug dealers.
No prison sentence, no second chance, execution.

Because legalizing Heroin, Meth, and Coke will instantly fix the problem of gangs.

Maybe won't fix the problem but will decrease the threat of gangs

I seriously doubt that.

Yeah because gang violence is still as bad as the Prohibition era, most gangs exist for money and most of the time they get their money from drugs, if you hurt their wallet then they won't be much of a problem.

Some drugs yes, but all drugs?

Do you even know how crazy people can become on some drugs? Like you straight up can't even kill them because the rush is so much to the body. I personally like not having Heroin, Meth, Bath Salts, etc addicts walking the streets.

Washington DC legalized a certain percentage marijuana, so have other states. My opinion and my opinion only, but I believe there is too much money to be made in the black market for illegal drugs. There would be no need for the DEA if drugs are legalized. Private prisons also profit and are the biggest business in the prison industry complex. It would be difficult to regulate the legalization of drugs. Could you imagine the epidemic caused from drug overdoses. Addictions would skyrocket, insurance companies would have to pay out more keep these people alive. In return insurance rate premiums would skyrocket. Not only would you have to deal with DUI's, but adding drugs into that factor. More car related deaths will be added to the toll.

The war on drugs is being fought, and you wouldn't believe the tons of drugs seized at the border each year. It is impossible to catch it all. I believe the war on drugs is making good progress. When America turns into certain parts Mexico, that is when the war on drugs has truly failed. Mayors, police, military, informants to the police, politicians, etc... are being killed or beheaded in Mexico to show a grim and firm reminder that the cartels have complete control.

I don't think legalizing all drugs automatically means that there are gonna be Bath Salts or Meth addicts from every corner. As for heroin its not that bad as most people make it out to be.

If it's legal that means all drugs are controlled and distributed by the government. So it will be the same as it is now, but now law enforcement can basically break open your door if they know you didn't purchase it legally without a warrant. It's actually a swing in the right direction. I mean, the price will increase, so natural selection will take its course. People are going to do drugs and buy drugs illegally, or legally, I think it's better to put it in the hands of the government, I mean it already is in their hands to begin with lol. People are desperate, but not for that much money lol. Oh well I think it would be a fun little experiment, maybe just legalize it in Detroit, see how that goes

Did you get the last part from The Wire

Also Law enforcement can break down your door if you already have illegal drugs in the first place so not much will change
