I've never been scared of vampires. I'm more afraid of Asian girls with long black hair that crawl out of tvs.

And have been kept in a well for a week...
Anyway, my idea of the scariest vampire was a real life historical figure. This was a Hungarian countess named Elizabeth Bathory who bathed in the blood of virgins thinking it could slow down her aging process. When word came out that she killed hundreds of teenage girls, she was put on trial and walled up in her own castle until she died of starvation. The character Lady Gaga played on "American Horror Story:Hotel" was loosely based on her.

according to wikipedia the whole bathing in blood of virgins thing has little evidence and is likely an embellishment of the tale. the number of women she killed is also debatable, but it was no small number... the "official" count is 80, though witnesses reported over 300. some diary kept by the financial adviser reported 650, but it has never been found. she was also imprisoned in the castle for 4 years, so if she died of starvation it wasn't until later.

either way she freaky

As someone who just watched From Dusk Till Dawn, I definitely wouldn't want to be stuck in a bar with all those vampires.

The vampires in The Lost Boys were also kinda freaky.

I wasn't really scared but I thought those vampires from Blade II who could split their mouths apart were pretty freaky.

Bram Stroker's Dracula, the movie adaptation always creeped me out as a kid.
