That's the thing: We've heard people at rallies not saying "I hope he deconstructs all the lies in Cruz's foreign policy", but literally, "I hope he drops an F-bomb!" "I'd love to hear him stick it to that b***h Hillary."

His supporters don't want a politician--They want what Adam Sandler's fans want, what Andrew Dice Clay (remember him?) fans wanted, and, arguably, what 30's Germans wanted:
The Jerks were tired and frustrated of being picked on and belittled by the "good people", and wanted to follow a charismatic spiritual messiah who promised them that The Jerks Would Inherit The Earth for a change

Check out Roger Ebert's understandably disturbed review of Clay's '91 standup-concert movie--which also had mass sold-out crowds of Brooklyn high-school kids chanting his name, every time he made a joke about "chicks", foreigners or the disabled--and see if something doesn't sound a bit....FAMILIAR.

(Similarly, we also had Clay's fans back then trying to spin a harmless defense that he was actually doing the world a favor by being "candid" enough to be an abrasive racist/misogynist jerk: "It's his genius social satire of a lifestyle--He's not really a jerk, he just PLAYS ONE in his act!"
Oh, how I wish I was making that one up.)

Well Cruz has been proven to be lying and being deceptive. The case in point being about global temperatures and zero warming over the past 17 years. The only reason he could technically claim that was due to a record global temperature 17 years ago and created a high blip in a chart that otherwise shows ever progressive temp increases.

How Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) ever got to be the chairman of the Subcommittee on Space, Science, and Competitiveness and in oversight of NASA is troubling.

Rafael has been discovered fudging things on purpose.

No, I will not call that blobfish who wants to bring The Handmaid's Tale to life 'TED'.

I swear, just when I agree with Trump on something like him going after Jeb! at the debates about 9/11....he does something that makes me scared for this country like go after the Pope.

Pretty sure that both have no problems with stretching the truth to favor themselves. Ugh.

We could say "Donald Trump slings insults at Mother Theresa", and it would be a joke.
Donald Trump slings insults at the Pope, and it isn't.

Imagine, calling an avowed atheist trying to court the evangelical vote "not a true Christian" for wanting to build divisive ethnic-baiting walls!
Good thing they haven't come to blows yet over the Pope's latest proclamation--softening the Vatican's stand on birth control in the hopes of preventing Zika-virus birth defects--otherwise we'd be knee-deep in "Proof that Trump is indeed a pinhead" jokes by now.

I'm going to try to attach a link to the source of info that Cruz cited. http://www.drroyspencer.com/ I am not a mathematician but my understanding of how The Pause is calculated is you start with the current temperature anomaly and go backward in time until the anomaly from that time to the present one shows a statistically significant increase. That is why as a month goes by The Pause length can stay the same, or grow, or shrink by multiple months. Each temperature data set shows a different result for the length, But the satellite datasets (RSS & UAH) are in rough agreement with each other and with the radiosonde i.e. weather balloon datasets.

You may not agree with these datasets, but that does not make citing them a lie - rather the opposite in fact.

With regards to your second statement, I don't know how chairmanships are assigned. But whoever picked Cruz might have been influenced by his academic history which is exceptional. http://www.whitehousedossier.com/2015/03/23/liberal-prof-dershowitz-cruz-charts-brilliant/

If I am wrong about anything above, please quote it and cite your source. Thanks.
