I will say that i was like telling myself i hate this show as i watch it...finished it 2 days ago....can't stop relating it to my own life. It is really something. AND FURTHERMORE! (=p) I think the artstyle really worked! It ends up looking very very real! This IS worth your time friend i promise.

Sorry, can't look past the rotoscoping for Flowers of Evil. Never mind that I actually had an opinion of the animation style before the controversy over this. Well, I may eventually power through it. It does a disservice to any medium to dramatically change the art style as so.

Gimmie access to the manga through my subscription and then we'll talk.

Mushishi is pretty cool though.

Disservice to the medium to change an art style? Like all those great modern artists when they reinterpreted what art meant... picasso etc.

Flowers of Evil is a masterpiece, to not watch it for shallow reasons would be a mistake.

Mushi-shi is absolutely wonderful. The art in it is gorgeous and there are a lot of times when episodes leave you thinking about aspects of humanity and yourself. Definitely worth a look. Teekyu was one I stumbled onto by accident. Only watched one episode, not because it was bad, but it's WAAY to fast for my taste. Pretty funny though.

I haven't known about half of them btw being here with You from the very beginning of the paid service lol !!!!! you guys need a better ...search engine, or rather something that will help us DISCOVER new anime/drama. not only look through the lists

My Rotten Sushi content index page has many extended genre/tags, and has over 1000 pages with interconnected links for (nearly) all CR shows:

Publisher
Studio
newsletter articles (if they have one)
forum discussion threads
simple polls for each show
content ratings
alternate titles
If you liked this, "try these" suggestions. (Not actually random, but reasons may not be immediately apparent.)
Series that span multiple"show pages"
First episode direct links
CR specific "tags" for things like OVA, movie, dub, short, etc.

Unfortunately for some (all I can offer is apologies), it is all a US centrist content view, so anyone outside the US (except maybe Canada) may not find it completely useful. But bbcode being what it is, I can't create dynamic content, and gathering which shows are available by country would be pretty painful in most cases, and sometimes not even possible.

Also, I don't add each current season's newly added shows in to the mix until nearly the season's end, sometimes a bit later.

thx and do not fear, I watch everything here anyways, regardless of region <3 and no VPN ofc. that would only slow me down. Good to be alive. and good to be with Crunchyroll since the very start of their sub service years ago lol

Teekyu a hidden gem? Too each their own I guess.

As for Flowers of Evil the rotoscoping didn't really appeal to me either nor do I think it added to it. I'll read it before I watch that.

Flowers of Evil is truly a masterpiece, I loved it. Mushishi is episodic and brilliant, truly a relaxing show to watch.

I guess I need to give Teekyu another look. Being able to watch a whole season or two in an hour would help. I couldn't get into it when it started, so I dropped it. Maybe a low tolerance for high pitched voices. That's certainly been the culprit for many popular series that I couldn't stay with. I think that's also why I only got a few episodes into Humanity has Declined. It seems to numb my brain and I find myself not remembering what happened.

CCG based anime tend to rub me wrong. I feel like I'm watching a giant commercial. I watched plenty of Yu Gi Oh, when my son was watching, and, I enjoyed Pokemon and Card Captor Sakura, but it got old for me and I find myself avoiding it after only one or two episodes.

Sherlock Hound is intriguing. It definitely has the right pedigree. That should occupy my time, although I'm rarely looking for something to watch on a Friday.

This isn't meant to be a complaint list. The rest of the list, I've already watched. (Several times for Mushi Shi and Mononoke) and agree with the recommendations.

Teekyu drives me nuts its like ADHD induced pain in my viewing experience. Mushi-shi on the other hand falls on the other side of Teekyu's spectrum. Mushi-shi has got to be one of my favourite shows in a long time in terms of its different tone and beautiful animation, with it's 30 minute run time and condensed single episodes that leave you learning something about your outlook on life by the end, whether that out look is about life itself or about others or even yourself, there is something to be found in each viewing.

I highly recommend Mushi-shi to anyone who wants a different look on life or anime for that matter.

PS it has an opening that sets the tone if there is a quick way to know if you'll like it watch the opening.

Maybe that's why I found Teekyu unwatchable. I can usually get through the shorties, but I gave up on that one and now I'm wondering why....and why it's still so popular. I figured it was the voices, but a good story will negate that problem. I just know it made my FII list. (Found it irritating), but then so did Humanity.

I agree with your take on Mushi Shi too. I couldn't get enough of it. Even the live action movie. I have both openings on my playlist. Shiver is one of my favorites.
