That's a dead tie between my Type 99 Long Rifle and a Japanese officer's sword circa WWII. Though taking second place is a newly acquired piece in the form of a M14.

Having the Jap 7.7mm Arisaka Type 99 kind of surprised me as I had one for about 15 years and hunted deer with it.
Bagged quite a few. It was very accurate out to 150 yards w/iron sites. My best was at 175 yards, but that was more luck.

Mine had the MUM crest intact. Most had the crest ground off to some extent.
The last year of production didn't have the chrome lined bore.

Sadly I sold it about 8 yrs ago after I bought a Remington 700LH(left handed) in stainless chambered in 30-06.
Put a weaver 3-9 scope on it.

As far as swords I also have 2 WW2 era swords.
One is the standard issue Katana which was mass produced.
The second is a Wakizashi (short sword) that is of high quality with engraving on the blade and
has makers marks under the hilt. Beautiful woodgraining.

Seems we have a bit in common.

Yeah my Type 99 has her flower whole as well, only the surrendered rifles had their Imperial Crest removed. I bought the Type 99 in an estate auction a while back, same thing with the sword. The sword I got dirt cheap but damn did everyone and their mother wanted that rifle. I ended having to place 12,500 on the rifle before the rest stopped bidding.

Never used her for much though, I always used my C14 for pretty much everything, target shooting, hunting, etc.

My grandpa's engagement ring. I got it from my grandmother when he was in late stage cancer, basically on his deathbed. It was a very touching gesture.. That was about 6 years ago.. Damn, time runs by fast.

A small wooden table that my grandparents had. My uncle took it from their house and then gave it to me when he had to downsize.

The oldest possession that I have purchased is some artwork from a 1970s mangaka, made during the heyday of her career. Shikishi boards do not age well.

The oldest thing in my house... I want to say the Katana my grandfather brought home from WW2, but that'd be a lie, lol. I have an antique German Imperial rifle made in 1891, if that counts... it probably doesn't work; it was sold to me as a curio relic therefore not considered a real gun, being older than 1898.

My grandfather used to collect coins and pocket watches, and I gotta say the oldest things are all his, but one sticks out. It was a pocket watch from the late 1500's-early 1600's.
