I'm talking about knew for fact you would not survive. I've had several. Pick one that sticks, if you aren't comfortable talking about it just give the basic of the scenario and time frame.

For me, the worst was a firefight in afghanistan July 2008.

I'd say the closest to death I've gotten is when I spun out on the highway. Ended up perpendicular in the middle of all three lanes. Look to my left and there's a semi. Figured, "Hey let's just wait and see how this goes." Driver ended up changing lanes and avoided my car.

The second, though not technically fitting the question, was my first ever cardiac arrest. Staring into the dead eyes of a kid two years younger than myself was... sobering.

Woke up during an operation while aspirating, was told later that I was pretty close to dying then. At that point I was just trying to talk to the nurses and doctors which was pretty interesting, but what I remember more is when I woke up later on and requested some writing materials (couldn't talk at that point, too many tubes in me) so I could request more air. Felt like I was suffocating in the ICU recovery room. Fortunately, they fixed that pretty quickly.

Yes. Being locked up, coughing blood, denied medical care, and it is just cold cold cold, no heat in the room.

My third or fourth firefight in Afghanistan. I was just getting used to the fact I was now a killer of men when out of nowhere the Lt decides he needs a another C8 rifle joining the breaching unit. So I become that extra rifle. I send a grenade from the AG-C/EGLM launcher, a HE round into the building we're breaching. Well a hell of a bang later we're rushing in and I take two rounds to the chest, the first is eaten by the armour but the second punches a hole clean through the armour and out my back.

I must have had a guardian angel looking out for me that day. It was a clean wound, no organ damage and minimal bleeding but damn I won't lie. I was freaking out like some Japanese school girl. It was one thing to know I had killed men but another to face my own mortality ya know.

I nearly drowned at a swimming pool when I was 13. Scariest moment of my life. I was born extremely premature so my lung capacity is much smaller compared to most people.

I was on the back of a jet ski going probably 45 mph or so, when the guys on the beach thought it was a brilliant idea to send a para-sail out straight in front of us. I remember hearing someone yell duck so I do, next thing I feel is the rope skin the top of my head. There's no doubt in my mind if I ducked even a second later that rope would have taken my whole head clean off.

I probably have others but this is the only one that stuck with me.

About seven years ago I was in an automobile accident. I collided with a tree about 15 feet in the air after I lost control of my car, driving 75 mph, and driving off a bridge. My airbag malfunctioned, and my seat belt popped loose upon impact. I managed to go through the windshield, but luckily the brake pedal stuck, and lodged my foot beneath it. The impact broke my right femur in several places, but it threw me back in the driver seat. Luckily someone who lived near the site was smoking on his porch, and called 911 when it happened. At the hospital I had to have a blood transfusion, followed by an operation to put a metal rod through my femur to keep it together (which is still there to this day). I walk with a partial limp now, but that's nothing compared to what could have happened.

We were heading to the homies crib and roadied 2 blunts and 3/4 of the way of finishing the 2nd one I look out of my window to see a car coming full speed at my side and it was too late to even say anything to my friend who was driving. We go spiraling off the road and I was hoping that the car wasn't going to flip but we stopped in a field. One of those times where some crazy shit goes down and it takes a minute for your brain to really process what just happened. Onstar system came on and ambulance/police arrived on the scene immediately and luckily no one was really hurt except for some whiplash. Friends car was totaled but he got a new one out of it. The chick just flew through a stop sign without care and smashed into us, women drivers I tell ya.

I feel I should also point out that all of the information I recounted was told to me by witnesses, and my family. I don't actually remember any of it.

I've had plenty, lemme sum up every near-death thing that's happened to me:
- I've been attacked twice in my life (first guy got shot by a cop, only 7 months later I got attacked by another thug, this time I was able to defend myself and call the cops, yup, my parents learned the hard way why to live in a safer area)
- My car has blown a tire while driving at 60mph on a highway before, which is really bad when you drive a smart car which has a short wheelbase.
- I've been hit with a sword before (blame my brother who tried to swing a "mall katana" as it's called, the blade flung out of it's hilt and flew into me, fortunately because I dodged, I got only minor injuries and was able to heal almost completely, well, still got a scar....)

Bet there's thousands more to come given I'm only 19!

Yes. The last time was being hit by a car fortunately for me I only came out with some bruises, no cuts, no broken bones, no serious head injuries either.

Fell off a boat and almost drowned. Was sure I would drown before I was saved. Didn't really go into deep water for a while after that.
