I'll stick to funimation & crunchyroll for the anime, I have just two Netflix and Amazon Prime

That's your choice. Not like anyone's forcing you.

I have all 3.

I use Hulu a lot for next day of current American shows like Brooklyn 99 and Comedy Central late night, and their new drama 11.22.63 is off to a great start.

I like watching a lot of Netflix originals, including the "original" J-Drama Atelier right now. There are so many Netflix originals (and there will be a lot more this year than last) I'll never be able to watch them all. I just wish they wouldn't license new anime without simulcasting it.

I got Amazon Prime to watch some of their originals but it doesn't seem worth the price to me because for music, Apple Music's selection and curation makes it much better than Prime, for shopping I prefer to buy online from smaller companies or in a retail store, and anything that isn't an original is likely on Hulu or Netflix.

it really depends each has pros and cons but from what i heard if time warner buys hulu they won't be doing next day stream, Amazon prime is really worth it if you buy a bunch of stuff from them you get 2 day free shipping 10% off preorders, music, movie stream and you can rent and buy movies and tv, if you only want to just watch movies and tv shows and exclusives netflix is better but if TW doesn't buy hulu would be the next best. personally i have prime and netflix, because i buy stuff all the time from amazon and supplement with current movies and netflix i use more for tv streaming and netflix exclusives because they are pretty slow when updating with newer movies to stream. so it depends on your needs but Amazon you get more bang for your buck

Hulu isn't available in the UK. Amazon prime doesn't have anime ( at least for the UK), and netflix doesn't have many.

I don't care how much jargon the tech-zombies throw at me. DVD's all the way!

A paid Hulu membership with ads has the advantage of being able to watch it on other devices than plain old PC, and in some cases gives access to shows you wouldn't have access to or you get it earlier.

Being able to watch on my Roku is enough of an advantage for me that I've paid for Hulu for short periods of time when there's something I really want to watch. (But I haven't found I watch enough there regularly that it's worth it every month on a long-term basis.)

For anime I mostly stick with Crunchyroll and Funi. For other shows, I use Amazon Prime or buy/rent individual movies or series from Amazon, since I watch little enough, sporadically enough, that it's cheap enough that way.

you can easily connect your laptop/desktop computer to your TV via hdmi and have (almost) the same benefits as the paid membership

for smartphones/tablets, android phones support flash natively, so people with android phones/tablet should be able to watch hulu through their browser without a problem. (heck, with the right peripheral, they could mirror and watch the content on their tablet/phones on their TV)

for people with iOS devices, it requires running a browser that can play flash content - and yes, those exist. i was able to play hulu on my iPad 4, though i removed the browser (since i hardly ever watch hulu). should theoretically be possible to use air play to mirror the content to Apple TV, though i haven't tested.

the only advantage for a regular premium service seems to be able to watch hulu without having to connect your computer to your TV (or mirror the content from smartphone/tablet to tv), and have exclusive shows, which you might or might not actually find enjoyable.

Hulu scrubs don't go outside US afaik.
Netflix is cool, but Canadian netflix sucks, so gotta get a US netflix
Amazon Prime would be cool, but I dont really much online as of late, so it doesnt have that much of an appeal to me atm.

I would go with none, but Netflix if it was a life/death choice.

You aren't telling me anything I don't know. Doesn't change that for some people for whom a few bucks a month isn't a big deal, there are features that make it worth it for them.
