I dont know, it seems like it would be more risky if everyone else was still alive. zombies seem, SEEM easier to deal with than psychos
here's a certain scene from an old game on that subject.

On the generator subject i dont know if i would want to be the only one with power surrounded by thousands of people
who are willing to do just about anything to get a piece of that pie.
Gonna be using that shotgun for more than just hunting.

And i dont mean to be rude with this comment, honest curiosity, you said 1+ player board games,
are there any board games that can be played solo? or did i grasp that wrong?

Well, there is no risk of infection when killing psychos, so I don't see that being a problem. Unless you have any qualms about killing people intent on doing the same to you..

Yes, there are. Examples would be Arkham Horror, Eldritch Horror, Elder Signs, etc. The playtime on them last about 3+ hours too.

will probably be displaced elsewhere until there's a place available or it's been resolved.

I WILL DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO SURVIVE ! ! ![/red]

Former military with wilderness training. Backpacked Canada's wilds for 3 weeks.
Backpacked Rockies both mid america, and northern Rockies.
Very proficient hunter with guns/crossbow/knives. Training with swords now.
Pickup & motorcycle with batteries out waiting. Siphon system to acquire fuel. Electronics with batteries out.
Supply of AA & AAA rechargable batteries and a solar battery charger. 8Gb/FM Mp3 player with battery out. Solar watch in box-discharged.
Large supply of SALT & Spices.
The last thing I plan to do is stop at the Travel trailer dealer to liberate a small 2 person trailer W/ solar panel on roof.
Then head out of the snow/Frigid belt....

Pretty sure "Ranwolf" will make it

Normally when the power goes out I sit around bored for like an hour and then I go and read a book and I am good again.

M family was still using gas lamps in the 1970's and cooked their food using firewood. I think we would be ok.

I'm in an electric wheelchair, so I'd be pretty fucked after four days.

I guess it would suck differently depending on the time of year. Even then, not like we couldn't get by.

This has been discussed on late night shows. The death count of the civilized world populations would astound you. The estimates range from chilling to outright scary. I can't recall exact numbers but the within 6-12 months the dead would represent about 90% of the population if the power went out from an EMP strike and stayed out.

Depending upon where you reside it might behoove one to cozy up to an orthodox Mormon who has a 1-3 year food supply on hand.

Well I am a soldier, a native, an avid hunter..I think I will be just fine. Though I suppose after a while I'd have to switch to a bow and arrow. Since no power = no more bullets or spare parts for rifles made anymore. Advanced medicine would run out fairly quickly so unless aspirin or a field dressing fixes it any wounds or sickness might become a problem.

Really though my biggest concern is the eventual descent into a sort of tribal warfare society ala the bandits from pretty much every post Apocalyptic movie, book, and game. 'Cause humans stripped of modern society tend to go a little crazy.

I see this having a big impact on first world nations but not so much in the undeveloped world.
My maternal grandmother didn't know what a clock was until the 1950's. My mother says that when she was growing up they used firewood to keep warm and that they hunted and grew their own food. There is still people like that in my native land and I see no impact on them. NYV, DC, and other major world cities would be another story
