Alright you guys, you know what time it is now. The halfway point this season has passed and there are some series that are considered hidden gems!

With that being said:

1). Which series of this season's Anime are the hidden gems?

2). Why do you think that series is a hidden gem? (List at least a paragraph with complete sentences).

Here is a list of Winter 2016 Anime!

http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-917233/winter-2016-anime

Post your gem:

The hidden gems that mentioned the most will be featured on an article at http://yattatachi.com/, so list them while you can!

We will stop listing the gems after the season is nearly over, so be sure to get your gems in!

For this season, i'm gonna go with Rakugo; definitely a hidden gem!

Rakugo and Kono Suba are the hidden gems for me. I remember scanning the chart prior to the season, and those two were not at all in my radar. Rakugo's my favorite of the season so far, while Kono Suba's the funnest. Oshiete! Gyaruko-chan is another show that I didn't expect to enjoy so much.

Rakugo, Konosuba, and Tabi Machi Late Show are my hidden gems of the season.

The first two I weren't even interested in at first simply because I saw they had DEEN as their studio, and DEEN shows are.....uneven in their quality. They'll have the occasional good show, but it isn't unheard of for them to go through long stretches of time between their releases that are generally accepted to be good. They are kind of like those perennially bad college sports teams that every few years have a winning season when they get the right combination of good enough players and make a run at things.

This just happens to be one of DEEN's winning seasons. Funnily enough 2 years on the dot from the last time they released a show that more people liked it than disliked it(said show being Sakura Trick from Winter 2014).

I haven't dropped any shows that I am watching.

My hidden gems are Rakugo, Sekko Boys (I would buy their statues if they get released), Tabi Machi Late Show, Konosuba (I almost consider not watching it since I thought it would be a run-of-the-mill harem, fan service show. I gave it a look after 3 episodes had aired and loved it for the its quirkiness), and maybe Grimgar ( it maybe slow and less action, but I like the story and the atmosphere so far).

You are in luck on the Sekko Boys statue front:

Rakugo is my hidden gem of the season for sure. Like a lot of others, I read about it a bit before the Winter season and it didn't interest me at all. Then when I finally decided to add it to my watchlist, the 48 minute long first episode made me put it off for a while. Glad I'm caught up though. It's my current favorite of the season as well.

Rakugo was my most anticipated show along with ERASED this season, so I can't exactly call it a hidden gem - Galko-chan, on the other hand, came out of nowhere, so that gets my vote.

Well looks like Rakugo didn't hide very well from some of us. I love it, and I'm not surprised that I love it, but I was surprised to see it among all the more usual sorts of shows.

Also Sekko Boys. I thought it was going to be stupid trash, but it's instead very fun and enjoyable.

Same here! I still need to check out Sekko Boys since I haven't tried it due to scheduling reasons. It's short, so I can catch up in a day for sure.

Hidden gems for me are konosuba, dimension W, And Pandora and the Crimson shell. I originally went into winter 2016 focusing on blood orphans, gate, erased, and Shwarzesmarken. I haven't dropped any of the shows I'm watching although came very close to dropping divine gate. Since it is halfway through I figured I will just finish it.

My first thought was Rakugo but it seems like that was a lot of others' first thought as well. I'd also add the shorts Sekkou Boys (AOTY :D) and Nijiiro (Rainbow) Days.

Ajin is under-watched maybe. I think people are put off by the Polygon Studios 3D animation but it's been cool so far despite that.
