Have any of you ever read Fablehaven? I doubt it because it's fairly easy (to read). It's a fantasy book that I think would be pretty great if animated. The ending was kind of meh. If not that maybe the Candyshop Wars. Both were made by Brandon Mull so I guess I like him.

Neuromancer or Idoru by William Gibson. That would be pretty awesome imo.

Both of these had a lot of action set in Japan.

No seriously though I feel like maybe a Murakami novel could be cool to watch as an anime but I'm just not sure about which one..

The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher

A modern mystery/supernatural story with magic and a sarcastic main character sounds like a good anime to me

The Dune novels.

Because nobody in Hollywood wants to do this series justice, so fuck it.

I want the original Dragonlance novels remade into an anime series.

The older film treatment was bad- It should be remade into anime

I might get some hate for this but imagine Carrie by Stephen King as a full length anime movie (might not fit the episodic format of manga/tv series.)

Carrie might end up looking like a basic Yandere but I still think it would be a fun interpretation. It would be better than the two live action movies that don't know how to follow the story or pacing of the original book I bet.

Actually, I imagine that 'Carrie' would be better remade as an anime then another live action film. It could approach the story from a very different angle. All the live action films tend to be horrible with various limitations and expectations being tacked on for it. An anime would be much more adaptable with telling the full story of the book in a much more effective way. Making the tragic nature of the climax much more effective.

How about something that hasn't already been adapted into TV / Movie / Cartoon? The Dark Tower series by Stephen King or the Landover series by Terry Brooks.

I'd like to see the Bible accurately portrayed as an anime. I know not everything in the Bible could be given this treatment but I imagine you'd still have enough materials to work with to make 12-24 episodes.

Hatchet by Gary Paulsen might make an interesting anime or as well. If that goes well I believe there are two or three other books in the series that might work out too.

I'll end by nominating Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls.

Dude.

Paper Gods trilogy by Amanda Sun cause it's already set in Japan & anime like.
and then for other tales..
maybe Daughter of Smoke & Bone trilogy by Laini Taylor..
or Splintered trilogy by A.G Howard
OR!
Bride of the Water God by Yun Mi-Kyung cause it's beautiful and already a manhwa.

High fantasy stuff, yes.

I actually liked a lot of Stephen King's short story compilations.
Not sure if i would be able to pick just one of the books because i'm sure there are a few of them that wouldn't adapt very well into anime, but it would be neat to see an anime that uses each episode to tell one of his short stories.
I think it would be reminiscent of mushi-shi, because although a few of the stories are scary, there are actually quite a few that are very quiet and reflective.
