I get that it can be, but it has always had less and in the context of our purposes I was trying to say we might be wise to keep it at less for a first attempt. But really it's about having fun, so if that means a little to much to chew, we will figure it out as it goes.

I definitely don't see that happening, but I think we need a lot of organization to be effective. Just wondering, is it possible to set up a poll forum in groups? Would it be a good idea for someone to set up step by step methodical polls to determine how this will be done and with majority consensus.

Do something like.
Poll 1: What genre.
Poll 2; vote on plotlines and which story the group wants to pursue after all writers/any one who wants to have submitted.
poll 3: distinguishable changes and final story lines we would like to use.
poll 4: character designs
etc..

polls would continue until they were no longer needed.

We could even go as far as to submit ideas and suggestions to Liza or PIssedofovich or someone and then copy pasted without names so ideas get an unbiased look from other people. (Though I don't really see that being a huge problem)

Guys, its really simple, it doesn't matter if you're an artist or writer for this task. This is simply to get the ball rolling with no pressure and to grow our collaborative skills. The genre, specifics, etc.. are a non factor. When we have enough submissions, we will vote for which one to use and collaborate on it.

It is really simple.
And really really really common.
This is what me and a few others are worried about. While growing collaborative skills is good, that's what groups like this always say with no end product. We have twenty plus people, and projects in waiting from a multitude of people. Don't get me wrong at all cause I want this to work but I am getting nothing but the satisfaction of an interesting project and some practice out of this, and if the project isn't interesting... well I can practice on my own.

Guys, I think there was a bit of confusion here. I want to straighten this up because I think I let an idea through that might have come out too soon or at least not quite processed right.

Here is the thing. This manga thing. Lets just keep it to summary ideas at the moment. We will get to storyboards when we decide on an idea. And I want to take the idea as seriously as possible because it is about getting stuff done and I don't want people to think that we are just jerking people one way then another. The focus at the moment is still the comic strips and anyone who showed up afterwards I wil be getting in touch with. The comic strip is just to get people talking together. But if we do a manga, I want people to feel like this is a real attempt and not just more "practice"...

But here is what I am going to do. I am going to make a new thread letting you guys in on everything this group is going to be planning. I want you guys in the loop so you can trust us because to me communication is the most important thing. I want us to feel like we are on the same level and also to have you guys see the whole iceberg. Please stay tuned as I try to rectify a small bit of confusion.

So we just had a huge debate in the core group about what to do. Punk you're method isn't wrong but it may cause a bit of a problem to some people due to past history. Some people really want to make the manga. Some people want to take it slow. There is a divide on the progress and somehow things get wonky. Hope you will stick for the ride, it will be a bumpy one. We all want to make a manga-at least I hope we all do- so people should try be active to show their support. We don't want another repeat. We probably need a group wide discussion on where things should head. And not just a few people.

Yo don't over thinking, just post vague premises and ideas here, then we vote then a storyboard gets done. Just post ideas here, anything, doesn't have to be the entire story, setting and dialogue.

I hope that's the case. I'll try doing one when I can. Currently I'm busy for two weeks and I'll try squeezing some time for fast sketches.

It's not overthinking anything, no one here is new to trying to get ideas off the ground. I have just seen this happen this way to many times. My personal feeling is that it should have some heavy organization but if that stifles people I totally understand, I'll sit back on it and hope it works out as well as it sounds. But if I didn't at least make suggestions based off of the experiences I have had, it would feel like I wasted that time.

No worries, I am dedicated to making manga if nothing else, it was only a suggestion. I am open to try any way we can to get a good result, I am sure I will stay as long as people are invested and progress is made at some kind of pace, even if it is slower.
