i can definitely see prejudice when mixed people interact with people from a side of their heritage. i'm not really put to face it as muh as others, the only indication that i have any asian in me is my eye shape--not even the eye color. i visit taiwan a lot and people welcome me with open arms, i haven't been treated any worse than full blooded taiwanese.

o_o i think mixed blooded people can be pressured with influences from both sides of their families though, it certainly applies to the half asian half americans i know.

Unless they were hugely off topic, that seemed unnecessary.

Well, at one time in their history they were a very reclusive country that detested outsiders. Could just be a cultural echo. I hear even today that the few people who spend several years there aren't exactly accepted.

@kuritsutaru-chan -Please understand that the mods just want to keep things neat and tidy. It's easier for other members to read and comment if the posts are more relevant ^-^. It's also in the forum rules.
Oh and the username is from a song by Rufio called One Slowdanse ^-^

To be on topic quickly: I live in a quiet area that is quite ignorant of other races. You're either black, white or asian so there are few problems! I think mixed race people face the same things in most cultures. It tends to depend more on the particular area and social circle they mix with ^-^

Slowdanse is only doing her job. Especially since the fact she in new, Kuritsu.. I mean seriously the reason it was deleted because it was off-topic. If you want her to stop GET BACK ON TOPIC. Maybe she decided to spell it as "danse" to make it look unique or something. Pulling something out like that to try to offend someone, when it doesn't even have to do with her deleting off-topic posts, is unnecessary. The way she likes to spell her username is up to her, and you shouldn't call her out on it...

To be on topic: I live in a normalish place... really... there's nothing wrong with being mixed. :3

It's ironic that a 14 year old girl, who by the way can't spell and seems to have no basic English skills, is telling others that they're annoying...

I like people who are half-race. I'm considered half British half Chinese and it's true that, because I've grown up in the UK most of my life, that I identify more with Britain than China and none of my friends are Asian, partly due to the small Asian community where I live.
I can relate to the difficulty in fitting into Asian communities though. For me, seeing as my Chinese isn't exactly the best, I find it hard to keep up sometimes when people start speaking Chinese quickly.

I'm half Japanese and Caucasian but I never had bad experience about my race in Japan. The y all accept me as who I am. When I came to the U.S., some Mexicans and Koreans treated me badly, because I'm half Japanese and Caucasian. p.s. Christal Kay was also born and grew up in Japan and she's half black and Japanese? (I think) seems like everybody likes her in japan.

Woah you actually reminded me something...Im half filipino/chinese and in all my years in the phil, I was not mistreated due to my chinese blood (prolly because we like chinese). When I moved to Europe however...well, let's just say 80% of them were kind and the rest were freaking racist a$$ holes

I'm half Black and half Cuban, and many of my Cuban family members have refused contact with us because of it. It's not as big of a deal in America, since there are less Cubans here than Blacks. But I still encounter the jokes though. Like when I used to say I was half Cuban, people would say "Row row row your boat". Either that, or some people would actually be shocked. They would say "You don't look like it", so I just reply with "So how do Cubans look to you?". That shuts them up. Because half of the Cuban race is my complexion.

But I will say that there are actually more people in Japan that detest blacks than those who don't. Most keep their mouths shut though.

It all roots from fear, misunderstanding, and ignorance. I'm moving to Japan one day myself, so like I said in another thread, I wont let the stereotypes bother me.

So when it all boils down to it, hxhkurapica, you just have to be around the right people, and make the right friends. There's always good people around for that purpose....ALWAYS.

Hello there. I am a teenager (now living in CA). I am half Japanese and half Black. When I was living in Japan for 10 years, I've had mixed treatments (good and bad) while i was living there. It seems as if they treat kids who are mixed with a white race better (I'm just speculating) bbut please prove me wrong. I love Japan, but when I go there I feel really insecure. Please tell me your thoughts.

Join the club i`m mixed as hell black , Japanese , Dominican , Navajo..... hell when I was living in the jap didn't seem much like a difference. Infact quite the opposite of what you think of.

[edit to below] even though i am part black I still look Filipino...regardless I like my yellow skin so join the club.
