Can I get some suggestions on some Japan produced shows that would be the equivalent of situation comedies here in America that are available on crunchyroll? I really "like mr. nietzsche at the convenience store." Also, what would be the correct term for that type of show? like is it still considered drama just because it's live action?

Servant x Service began as a comic, and was adapted into a 13 episode animated TV series. It's relatively episodic. The story does not involve fantasy, sci-fi, or horror, but focuses on a mundane world. Most major characters are adults.

The second season of Moyasimon is also currently on Crunchyroll. It's a mostly episodic college comedy. It has a low-key science fiction premise -- main character can see micro organisms -- but the humor is based on the characters' interactions.

The Wikipedia article "Japanese television dramas" indicates that narrative driven live action TV series fall under a wide variety of genes, but implies that all of them are called dramas. The only narrative driven series that seem to be exceptions are tokusatsu franchises. I could be wrong. If you're reading this and you have more accurate/detailed info, then be sure to reply.

I made sure to check Wikipedia's article "Japanese television dramas based on manga." It included series which have a lot of humor -- not only Mr. Nietzsche in the Convenience Store, but also comedies such as Kochikame and Minna! Esper Dayo!
