Do you think all countries should work together to improve space exploration?

Or possibly even colonize space?

Good subject to bring up it seems since mankind and womankind have landed on the moon we as a species have lost interest in exploring the stars i firmly believe there is far more out there for us to discover and explore and i think mankind and womankind should unite and do just that but with so many big issues on our planet money will for ever be a huge talking point if only we could bang a few nation's heads's together and get busy !

Several countries cooperate(d) already for the ISS. As for colonization, I just don't think most countries could/would cooperate due to the vast difference in mindset and cultural values.

If Civ: BE has taught me anything (lulz) it's that the USA and Russia will not play nice with anyone, ever, and this is why we can't have nice things.

Many countries can't even afford to contribute, and/or have much more pressing needs.

I think all countries should work together.

Not just on space exploration.

Reality: it will be private corporations, starting with the mining of NEOs.

Look at the current situation in the EU; that won't happen anytime soon.

Many countries have a smaller economy than California so it wouldn't be fair to force them to invest in space exploration. Most countries are just worried about not having their people die. I say this with full knowledge that my avatar is a picture of a nebula.

I know, which is why I acknowledged that the future belongs to private industry.

Space is awesome, all countries should work together to get the technology needed for space exploration/colonization.

It might not happen in my lifetime, but I like to think that eventually humans are going to try to move further into the solar system. With that said though, I don't think that colonization of the solar system is in the cards for a very long time, much less that different countries will cooperate to do so. It'll probably be just like what happened when the Age of Exploration started. Governments weren't very interested in setting up anything permanent at the time, so the way to colonization was paved by private corporations more interested in setting up outposts to facilitate trade and resource collection. Private industry will likely pave the way again when we start setting our sights on the stars.
