Neither am I, explosives and their production is something every soldier learns during training.

As for the suspicions of other people, not my fault their education was clearly subpar. Worse case and I am talking worse case scenario the OP can use it to make black powder along with some other much harder to get chemicals...Ya afraid of somebody with a musket making the streets run red with blood one corpse every 20 seconds?

Sure you could use black powder to make an IED but it's not the most ideal solution and the damage would be not as great with something much easier to produce like ANFO or even C4. A hot plate, a trip to a local drugstore, a scale, and a mortar and pestle and you to can make C4.

Good to know you're a soldier so you have a legitimate reason for knowing this stuff. I was starting to get worried. People in the armed forces would know all about this sort of thing, I'm sure.

I wouldn't say it meant anyone's education was "subpar". Unless you're training to be in the armed forces, why would school teach you this sort of thing? it's natural for people to become suspicious of something they don't fully understand. If a guy asks where he can buy a certain chemical but you don't actually know what it can be used for, in this unstable climate people are going to think "that's rather suspicious..."

I would indeed be scared of a musket though. It may be outdated and not the quickest and easiest of weapons, but it can still kill someone.

Schools for obvious reasons don't say "hey, add this and this and you have a bomb! Wooh!" which you are right about. However it does teach you [in chemistry class] how different things react together. It wouldn't take much effort to then go "well if A does this, and B does this, maybe if I put them together they'll go boom!". I'm not trying to call you out for not knowing what potassium nitrate does or anything. Just saying that it's easier to figure out how to make a bomb than someone who doesn't care to know how would think. You can go on youtube can search how to make smoke bombs (though the word "bomb" is used very loosely here). If someone really wanted to make a bomb, it wouldn't take much effort to figure out how with just what you learn in school.

You're going to waste the Department of Homeland Security's time with somebody who at worse could make black powder? And I am not all that brushed up on American Criminal law but isn't explosives and possible terrorism the ballpark of the NSA and FBI?

I find this more entertaining than reading up on PV hitting on underage girls.

Meh, anime is a world where school children are expected to fight wars, were incest is not all that bad, lesbian and homesexual themes are explored in ways that are actually unacceptable in Japanese society, Where Snake girls can openly seduce Human males, Were alchemy becomes basically magic, where immortal warrior types guide the souls of the dead to the afterlife, and etc.

What exactly belongs where in the end?

I saw a guide about making it on Instructables and I bet you want to launch rockets with this compound. Maybe you have tree stumps in your new lot that needs to be removed and this fertilizing compound may be your best bet.

I would have thought the emoticon would have been sufficient to show I was being facetious. I apologize for my error.

No because this isnt a dangerous chemical.

Way to assume the worst.

Potassium Nitrate is more commonly known as Stump Remover, a product you could pick up in a gardening store.

Which is totally why they've been using it to preserve meat for centuries literally and some places add it directly to food being cooked. And most canned beans have it added as a softening agent.

Just about 80% of you all have assumed im making a bomb.
Please stop being a dense ignoramus and actually look up Potassium Nitrate and also the videos I posted in an earlier reply.

I only wanted to know the best place to buy it, and you all blew it way out of proportion. GG

Technically you are making bomb. Rocket Fuel is a controlled explosive but an explosive nonetheless.
