So I'm Watching Monster And I Am Confused. (Spoilers On Ending)
Posted 2/24/16
So, I was thinking back to Monster, and basically what made me gave the Series a 6 was when they made a big deal about Tenma shooting Johan WHEN HE'S POINTING A GUN AT A BOY'S HEAD. It appeared to me he had more than a clear shot, as Johan arm wasn't around his neck, but instead of at a distance. Seriously, I think the author was making a profound statement, but I am just flabbergasted at how stupid this all appears. I mean, if this happened in real life, most of us would think that Tenma would be an idiot. It just seems a way to make the later statment of that all lives are equal so that Tenma can treat him, but in that scenario? WHY.

Johan was no longer a child at that point.

What does that have to do with anything? Johan was clearly pulling a Legatos Bluesummer of Tenma and while Trigun did make a great deal of sense (Sortof) this falls into using a bad example to demonstrate a point, which can incur some genius to question what appears to be the most one sided of scenarios. But it really didn't pull it off for me, and it comes off as stupid.

What? Tenma didn't shot Johan at the end. The drunk guy did. You might wanna rewatch it.

That's not what I meant, they mader a big deal about Tenma shooting Johan as a moral dilemma that all lives are equal and stuff, basically Johan was a self destructive being trying to pull a legatos bluesummer on our Tenma.

Tenma belies all life equal. Thus the reluctance to take any life, period. But he still believes he's responsible for Johan. So that creates the inner conflict he experiences throughout the series.
