Netflix is already the home of some pretty terrific Anime, but now the world’s leading Internet TV network has partnered with Production I.G to create one of its own.

The new deal will bring an original Anime series called “Perfect Bones” exclusively to Netflix. This marks the first ever original Anime title to debut all episodes simultaneously in 190 countries around the world.

Synopsis:
Directed by Kazuto Nakazawa, the 12-episode series is set in the future where scientists have tried to create the “perfect human” in hopes of keeping peace in the universe. After nearly achieving their goal through several children, the scientists send their “new humans” for further training where they are kidnapped by an evil organization set on using their powers to implement their own concept of a new world order.

When I saw the topic title I thought we'd be getting more Sakurako.

Subarashii ja nai!

The concept sounds like it could be fun.

I'll check it out. I am interested in if there is going to be a sub and a dub. Personally I don't care but I know other people do.

This is Netflix so I'm sure there will at least be English and Spanish dubs from day 1, probably Mandarin and Cantonese too but I guess we'll see how many they decide to do.

I guess Netflix is tired of watching their series get fansubbed months before they come out so the only way to stop that is to just own the whole thing. I welcome our new Netflix Anime Overlords? Hmm.

Honestly can't wait for this. Netflix finally fully producing an anime, I didn't think it'd be this fast. Netflix has some great original shows, so they probably saw a lot of potential in this show to be funding it all. More and more western companies are getting involved and I see this as only a good thing. Funimation I think gave it a valiant effort with Dimension W even if it didn't turn out as great as maybe they wanted it to be (in terms of story at least, that's my biggest gripe, everything else is fine), but that's ok, baby steps. It's good enough and is already been picking up a lot of steam, so Funi is probably happy about that.

Also seems like IG is the to-go studio for the western outlets, eh? Adult Swim/Toonami is using IG as well for the FLCL sequel.
