So I watched it dubbed a long time ago, then rewatched it again recently subbed when I saw there was a 2nd season. I know I'm late but I dont like watching anime until all the episodes are out. Anways, I just can't get into season 2... Am I the only one? I can't put my finger on it, but something is off.

I never had any trouble getting into it, at least from the start. The second cour left something to be desired, if anything.

I reached a wall at the end of durarara season 1. I started season 2 but just couldn't get into it as you said.

It's harder to get into due to the massive influx of characters, but on a second watch, I've found it to be a lot more enjoyable.

Not at all. I've been enjoying the second season, especially many of the new characters, Rokujo, Varona, and Kasane in particular are like long lost Durarara!! characters(I mean they ARE Durarara!! characters, I just mean like they would have fit in from day one, they are that kind of breed of Durarara!! characters, the ones both weird and cool enough to only be Durarara!! characters).

I'm currently watching the second season right now; a little over half-way. Most of the new characters (especially Varona and Akane) are a lot of fun. I do think the 1st season is a tad bit stronger, but 2nd is enjoyable as well.

Life for a sequel can be tough. I do think it's very different, almost to the point of jumping genres, but at the same time YMMV. The things I latched on to from the first season may not have even registered with other people, who instead liked different things about it all, which could've translated into the second season just fine or maybe even gotten better.

But in any case I'm glad they gave it a shot regardless and for those it's working for more power to ya.

Fingers crossed for the third cour, I'm waiting to marathon it at season's end.

If you're having a little trouble getting into the second season it's probably because it's kinda of a messy clusterf*ck. X2 and X2 Ten specifically.

The story is still strong but Ryohgo Narita adds a boat load of characters (and subsequently more stories) to pay attention to and quite frankly I didn't care about most of them. Some plots out shine others completely .Like I didn't give a damn about whatever the mafia was up to for the love of god just get back to Mikado's story. It's just not focused enough.

And Narita sort of acknowledged his story was messy in the first episode of X2 Ketsu is a round about way.

^This. Probably. I've also had a hard time putting my finger on it, but now that it's mentioned I think it might have been because of all the new characters. I definitely did have a hard timing getting into the second season, and while I kept watching it mostly weekly, it was admittedly half-assedly. I was often doing something else while I was watching, which certainly did not help me regain interest.

Somewhere along the way though, it got interesting again (to me). I can't recall exactly when that happened for me but I think it was probably some time during the second arc.

If I had to describe the second season of Durarara in one sentence, I would probably say that it's like an inconsistently written audiobook playing over bad animation.

So I feel you.

I didn't really, I just wished they'd adapted everything correctly and not excluded AS many details, given, they did a better job of adapting than they did with S1, but still...

I thought the series really started to weaken during the second half of the first season.

Same it really should have been 12 episodes. This series has spent way to much time on the wrong characters (teenagers).

(2 Episodes in) So far Ketsu has been a train wreck as we have this pander fest of a start with all the characters coming together to unite and interact, even though it makes little sense and is really awkward. Character issues are glanced over to make room for jokes between characters (same issue as the last 25 minutes of the second Gintama movie).

Durarara is getting worse and worse as the series progresses. There have been some peaks, but those are becoming fewer and more far between.

EDIT: Durarara should have ended before Saika was even introduced.
