I've been an off-and-on subscriber of Crunchyroll for the past 2 years, and I gotta say, the crunchyroll experience hasn't changed much, but not in a "why fix what isn't broken" kinda way, but in a "why haven't they fixed this?", which is confusing comparing it to a lot of other sites which have been progressing and making improvements that make the user experience better and worth the money. The most obvious flaw is the video player, which the whole CR service is based around (excluding manga). It's where the paying users get their content, so it's appalling when, in my honest opinion, we get such an outdated player which makes up for a less than optimal experience. User turtle44 made some good suggestions past January:

1. I would love to see is a better progress bar. One with the ability to see how much the video has buffered, and a small preview window that pops up when mousing over different parts of the progress bar.

2. The series’ in Crunchroll that have both the subbed and dubbed versions have two completely different sections for the same video. It would be better if instead there was an option, within the video player, to select either the subbed or dubbed audio without reloading the page.

3. A similar change I would like to see is when changing the video quality instead of reloading the whole page it would change the video quality within the player, without interrupting viewing.
If you have anything else you think should be changed, or just think I’m crazy and it’s perfect how it is, let me know. I’m curious what other Crunchroll members think of the video player as it is now.

Nothing indicates that the CR's crew has read the feedback or any other user suggestion aside from some minor things too far and wide to give the feeling that they're listening. If I'm not mistaken feedback is for the people in charge to read, and so far I haven't seen any indication that they do or that they even care. This is not good for a site that's so behind the times as it is.
This is not a critique, it's a suggestion for the people that read this things to give the users some indication that they're not throwing their money away on some subpar service.

What just a damn minute Scythian. I have been a paid member for over 3 years so you better believe that i have sent countless emails to CR to resolve this issue. I mean comon, there are websites such as Funimiation who's video player is a lot better than crunchyrolls and so many others. Why haven't they done something about it is beyond me, do they want more money ..as for me sure I can afford it but given the fact that CR has been around for several years now they should haveupgraded their video player. I enjoy the manga app on my phone, I think it's a great app as well as the video app too so they have kept with the times in providing that however we should push them to improvie on what's already available because let's face it if we keep doing the sames we are doing we'll be left behind and I'm not talking about our anime experience but CR as a business to survive. People will leave CR for a better anime experience and they better open up their eyes and do something about it before they see that most of their customers have left.
